I was born and raised in the New York City area. I did my medical training at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. I stayed on to work there as an emergency room attending physician until I decided to move to Philadelphia to study gastroenterology at Temple University Medical Center. After completing my fellowship training, I was invited to stay and teach at the Medical Center. I decided to join a medical practice near Philadelphia in 1997 and relocated to my current practice in 1999 serving Northern Westchester County, Putnam County and lower Dutchess County, with our main office in Carmel, NY.
I am a member of the American College of gastroenterology (AGA) and the American Society of gastrointestinal endoscopists (ASGE). I was awarded a top Doctor award from Castle Connolly in 2015. The procedures I perform include, screening for colon cancer with colonoscopy, polyp removal, hemorrhoid band ligation, screening for esophagus and gastric cancer with upper endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and breath testing for H. pylori and excessive bacteria. I have extensive experience in the treatment of complications due to acid reflux including Barrett's esophagus, as well as experience in the treatment of various liver diseases, including hepatitis and fatty liver disease. I have close working relationships with physicians and many specialties including bariatric (weight loss) surgeons, general surgeons, ear nose and throat physicians, and cardiologist and pulmonary specialists.
I am most proud of...
In 2012 my partner and I completed opening the first and only certified outpatient endoscopy center in Putnam County. This provided a safe and comfortable location for patients to undergo procedures such as colonoscopy.

Dr. Kushner is one of the most professional, kindest, caring doctors I have ever had in my 66 years. He does not make you feel as though you have to rush through your time with him. He listen intently to all you have to say. Dr. Kushner is always fully prepare with all your former results since your last visits. Do yourself a favor, and make him your "Go to Doctor."
