Born and raised in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Michael Lopykinski graduated Cum Laude from the Illinois College of Optometry (Chicago, IL) in May 2004. In July 2005, he completed a Residency in Contact Lens and Cornea Management at the Illinois College of Optometry/Illinois Eye Institute with additional experience at the University of Chicago's Bergman Eye Center.
In March 2007, Dr. Lopykinski moved to South Florida while gaining additional experience within several Eye Care Practices throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. Dr. Lopykinski opened his own private practice in Deerfield Beach, FL in April 2012......20/20 Eye Associates was born.
At 20/20 Eye Associates, Dr. Lopykinski provides primary eye care to a multilingual (English, Spanish, Portuguese) patient base. He performs general eye exams for eyeglass prescriptions, certifies vision for Department of Motor Vehicles Licensure, accepts the emergency red eye or walk-in patient, and detects and manages ocular disease.
Over the years, Dr. Lopykinski has learned to use a variety of contact lenses depending on his patient's individual needs.....soft sphere, toric, multifocal, and colored lenses.....as well as gas permeable sphere, toric, and multifocal. In addition, Mike enjoys developing specialty contact lenses for patients with corneal disease (such as keratoconus and pellucid marginal degeneration) as well as patients with other unique contact lens needs (such as post-corneal transplant, trauma, etc.)
While not at the office, Mike and his wife (Katie) reside in Coral Springs with their dog (Gomez). Mike also enjoys running, cycling, curling, and attending local trivia nights.

Dr. Lopykinski was very knowledgeable and helpful. He took time to really listen to the issues I was having with my vision. I had been seeing a different doctor and my eyesight was consistently blurry with bad depth perception even though I got stronger contact lenses. Dr. Lopykinski figured out that my contacts for my right eye were about 5 steps too strong and hence my blurry vision. My vision is now great and my headaches are less frequent. I highly recommend him!
The practice itself (20/20 optical) is very nice and clean with an expansive selection of glasses frames. The optician is very friendly and helpful and will spend time consulting you to make sure that you find glasses frames that you love.
