Dr. David Y. Shipley was born in Baltimore, MD, and attended Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated with a Doctor of Optometry and a Master of Science Degree in Vision Rehabilitation. Dr. Shipley relocated to South Florida in 1991 and established his private practice, which specializes in rehabilitation of the visually impaired, specialty contact lenses for the hard-to-fit patient, and routine eye care needs. He is well known for providing his personal attention and expertise to each and every patient. In 1995, he was elected President of the Broward County Optometric Association. Dr. Shipley also served on the Board of Directors for the Lighthouse of Broward County as well as The McFatter Technical Center Optometric Assistant Program. Dr. Shipley’s hobbies include open water scuba diving, underwater photography, and maintaining his saltwater aquariums.
