Dr. Madsen graduated cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with a degree in physics from Brigham Young University. He then attended Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons where he was selected for the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society and won the Rosamond Kane Cummins award. After completing his residency in orthopedic surgery at The Hospital for Special Surgery at Cornell University, he received fellowship training at Twin Cities Spine Center and at the University of Heidelberg in Germany with Professor Jurgen Harms. His specialties include minimally invasive surgery, spinal deformity correction surgery, and degenerative spine surgery.
