Dr. Phillip’s has honestly been the best OBGYN I’ve ever been to! His bedside manner is impeccable! Not only does he remember me but he remembers my husband every time. I never feel rushed, he reminds me to ask my questions and always backs his answers up with experience, research and honest opinion. The only time I waited a while was when he was delivering a baby (which I love that the office is connected to the hospital) but anyone that complains about that is heartless! I started going to him when we wanted to get off birth control and we start trying for a baby (2019). Dr Phillip’s also delivered my baby AND visited us while in our postpartum room (2021). I would recommend Dr. Phillip’s 10x over! The best recommendation Zocdoc has ever given me was Dr. Phillips!

I was extremely nervous because I don’t visit a doctor as regularly as I should, but he was very attentive and friendly. I honestly am so glad I went here. The office is very pretty and I like the music in the rooms. It makes it feel less awkwardly quiet.

Dr. Michael Phillips moved to Austin in 1992 and established a solo practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology and shortly after eagerly joined AAOBGYN as their fourth partner. Prior to that he completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas where he served as Chief Resident in his final year at Baylor. Dr. Phillips completed Medical School at The University of Texas In Houston. Sherman, Texas is where he attended Austin College and earned a Liberal Arts Degree with an emphasis in Biology. All of this was preceded by a happy childhood in Nassau Bay, Texas where his dad was a rocket scientist.
Dr. Phillips enjoys his practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology, especially the relationships that have developed over the years working with the women of Austin. He has a broad based general practice but has special interests in minimally invasive surgery, multiple pregnancies (He is a twin) and fertility. Dr. Phillips serves on committees involved in Peer Review, Patient Safety Issues, and the implementation of Best Practices for patient care. He is the Managing Partner of AAOBGYN & Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Shortly after moving to Austin Dr. Phillips was married to Sue whom he met at Baylor Medical Center. They have two children Caroline and Robert. Like most parents they are very involved with their kids serving as coaches, Cub Scout Leaders, volunteers at school, and helpers with homework. Dr. Phillips is an avid tennis player and enjoys relaxing at the lake and learning to play guitar. (Just in case medicine doesn’t work out).

I was so impressed with Dr. Phillips - in addition to a very caring bedside manner, he was clearly very knowledgeable and thorough while he patiently and thoughtfully answered all questions. The appointment did not seemed rushed, I did not wait long at any time point. The pelvic exam was not uncomfortable. The staff up front and the nurse (whose name I forget, I apologize) was warm and caring and was also clearly very knowledgeable. Making the appointment was so easy and I very much appreciated the reminders and the ability to fill out medical history online ahead of time. Wonderful, wonderful doctor and office. Thank you.

He and his staff are astounding! Quite personable and very easy to talk to. No issues about my partner or our 2 year old toddler being in the room.
Answered all of our questions and was very, very insistent on calling if I or my partner becomes concerned about anything.

I had a great experience seeing Dr. Phillips for the first time. The entire staff was very friendly. I waited about 10 minutes and was called back. My entire annual plus new patient exam too about 30-45 minutes. He made me feel very comfortable and answered a ton of questions I had but didn't even ask. So glad I was referred to him by a friend. He's great.

Dr. Phillips was fantastic! I have had terrible luck with OBGYN doctors in the past, and he totally put my mind at ease. They took a little longer than desired to call me back to the room, but that's anywhere you go. He was very thorough in explaining things to me. And I will definitely be sticking with him!

The practice is located within the St. David's women's center and Dr. Phillips gives patients a code for free up close parking (a small, but appreciated, thing)! The office staff were friendly and efficient, and I got called to go back before I had time to pick a magazine. Even the wait in the exam room was less than 5 minutes! I care about the nurses and office staff as much as the doctor, and everyone here was great. My nurse was relaxed, witty, and informative. I was able to schedule a follow up for 2 business days later, so no long turn around time or waiting weeks to get back in!
As for Dr. Phillips, he was very thorough when discussing my treatment and I never felt rushed. He had excellent bedside manner and made me feel at ease throughout the exam.
