Michelle Aristizabal, M.D. received her medical degree from the University of Arizona, College of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. Dr. Aristizabal is well trained in all areas of general Obstetrics and Gynecology, including minimally invasive surgical procedures and adolescent gynecology. She also has special training in natural birth techniques and childbirth education and is a certified Hypnobirthing Practitioner. She supports a natural birthing process and really works with her patients to achieve the birthing experience they desire, while also supporting women who may desire more traditional medical interventions, such as epidural or cesarean delivery.
Dr. A, as she is called by many of her patients, is a special doctor who really cares about the women she takes care of. She takes the time to sit and talk with her patients, getting to know them, and working to solve any problems they may have. Many patients will leave the exam room and comment that they have never had a doctor talk to them in the way that Dr. A does. She approaches each patient as a whole person and treats conditions using a combination of traditional medical treatments and more holistic remedies.
She is also committed to improving the health of women worldwide and has provided care to women in Eastern Africa as part of medical mission trips. She has been married for ten years to her college sweetheart, who she met while studying English Literature at McGill University in Montreal, Canada and is a proud mother of two beautiful young children. She enjoys writing and painting during her few moments of free time.

This was my first visit so I had to fill out some paperwork as a new patient but they took me in once I finished it and the total visit with the exam was done in an hour for a annual visit. Dr. Aristizabal was so nice and friendly and was very easy to talk to. She spent a good amount of time going over my medical history and was very gentle during the exam. I am happy that I found such a great new ob!
