Dr. Michelle Muldrow, DO

Gynecologist, OB-GYN

Professional statement

Dr. Muldrow, who was born and raised in Laredo, has returned to her home state of Texas after several years of living on the East Coast. She is a graduate of Baylor University, where she obtained a BS in Education-Health Science Studies. Upon graduation, she moved to New York City, where she obtained her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. As a social worker, Dr. Muldrow provided psychiatric evaluation and counseling to victims of sexual and domestic violence, as well as psychiatrically ill and drug dependent persons. Always recognizing her true passion and calling was to become a physician, she went on to graduate with honors from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She intentionally chose an Osteopathic training, because of her fascination with its holistic philosophy and hands on approach to diagnosis and treatment. Osteopathic physicians, or DO’s, utilize all the tools and technology that are available in today’s modern medicine, plus the hands on approach, to help each patient resolve current medical issues and achieve and maintain overall wellness. Dr. Muldrow completed her OB/Gyn internship and residency at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. In combination with her social work training, Dr. Muldrow incorporates a mind, body, soul approach to her practice. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Bexar County Medical Society. Dr. Muldrow has a passion for education and helping underserved communities. She has been on various medical mission trips around the world. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the gym, spending time with her friends and family, and is an avid dancer, with her favorite being ballroom and flamenco. She also loves spending time with her two dogs, one of which she is trained to handle as a certified therapy dog.

I was fortunate to get Dr. Muldrow for this unusual problem. I knew I did not want to see the GYNECOLOGIST I had used a few years ago. Although professional, I felt someone my age was not particularly the target patient.Very different atmosphere with Dr. Muldrow and staff. My issue and health was priority for both of us. Thanks

My first visit seemed fine and she was very kind so I figured I hit the jackpot with her. 2nd one I felt a little rush but not too big of a deal. I was told I had a blood clotin my placenta that needed monitoring. I ended up going to the hospital one more time due to bleeding and was told they did not see the blood clot so it had most likely passed and that was the bleeding. I had a follow up appt with her that I had plenty of questions to make sure the baby and I where fine but unfortunately the rude front desk staff informed me she was running 1 1/2 hour late (after already waiting an hour) so I had to leave due to work. They rescheduled my visit and didn't seem too bothered or apologetic. I get things happen so even though I was annoyed I rescheduled and was hoping for answers the next visit. So guess what I'm doing now.. waiting for her & I have been here since 10:30am (it is now 12:36pm). Now I am just beyond aggrivated because once again I might have to leave because of work. I want a needed answers to make sure everything looks okay and my baby is healthy and fine.. a little reassurance to say the least but it doesn't look like I will be getting it here and I will most likely be looking for another Dr. ASAP!

I first came to visit Dr. Muldrow last year. My original OBGYN doctor stopped taking Medicare patients, otherwise I would never have looked for another doctor. My family doctor recommended I go to see Dr. Muldrow. So happy I did. Itell everyone I know how great she is. Always smiling, makes you feel good when you see her. Most of all great bedside manner, asking questions about my health. Overall GREAT doctor. Hope she doesn't stop taking Medicare patients!

Pleased with the doctor. The staff need an overhaul. I was a receptionist. I've verified insurance. It's not rocket science. You also shouldn't work with the public, especially working with women at a vulnerable time in their lives if you havecompletely devoid of a sense of humanity. I also gave you updated insurance over a month ago and once again, you have entered no record of it. .. you had to have it for the procedure. Get it together

The doctor was great. The office staff wasted over an hour the first visit, and i did their job for them-- verifying insurance. The second appointment they "lost" BOTH referral faxes even though i had spoken to them twice this morningafter verifying with insurance. They finally found both. But then after knowing i had had a miscarriage i waited an hour because they messed up and tagged me on DEAD LAST with another instead of my appointed doctor. Just to hear i needed a d and c. While all the office staff went home. I worked as receptionist in a doctor's office at 18. It's not that difficult. Aside from an issue with 1 doctor, every other problem is with office staff at Every location

Dr Muldrow was great. She listened, she was sensitive to my concerns and tool the time to explain everything. I was hesitant to go back to this office, but this is where the ER set my follow-up. The reason it tookso long is that the office staff, once again, didn't check insurance eligibility before the appointment. I spent a good part of the time doing their work for them-- calling the provider, checking eligibility... much better staff than their other location though.

I thought the doctor was awesome, but the wait time was NOT. We were told she was 45 minutes behind. There are no children allowed in the office, so I had to have a babysitter in the first place, then hadto call the babysitter and let her know I'd be at least 45 minutes late, which ended up turning into 1 hr. and 10 minutes late. The front office staff was not overly friendly, would have rather been given my paperwork all at one time instead of having to do one piece at a time and then stand there to hand it to them only to keep getting one more at a time. The worker who checked me out had not verified my benefits yet, so I wasn't able to pay and she took forever to schedule me for the next thing I needed as she couldn't read/understand the doctor's orders. Just to get checked out/pay took an additional 20 minutes after doctor was already so behind. Again, the actual doctor's visit was great, but the whole experience was not.

When I checked in they didn't have me written down for sono even though I'd scheduled the week before. They squeezed me in, seemed rushed, and then I Had a long wait between ultrasound and seeing the doctor, songropher was clearlyindicating something was wrong but didn't tell me. I knew by her body language and silence that my baby had died. Then I waited a lonely painful 20 minutes for the doctor to come in and tell me as much. Once I left I got a call asking me to come back to draw my blood because they forgot. A hard day, not helped by the chaos and coldness of the visit.
