More about Dr. Mohammad Mahmud, MD, PhD, MPH
Dr. Mahmud provides a unique comprehensive approach to medical care that offers options beyond traditional allopathic medicine. He was first exposed to Ayurvedic and homeopathic medicine in his native Bangladesh, where he completed medical school. After coming to the U.S. he completed residency in Internal Medicine and Preventative Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center & New York Medical College respectively, followed by fellowship in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at prestigious Harvard University, Boston, MA. His keen interest in disease prevention led to his MPH and PhD in Public Health from University of Texas, Houston, culminating in national and international research publications, and working in FDA clinical trials. Dr. Mahmud’s multi-faceted credentials and unique training enables him to offer medical treatments beyond the scope of traditional medicine. He embraces a holistic approach integrating natural products and remedies as an adjunct to western medicine. Dr. Mahmud emphasizes a healthy lifestyle, addressing toxic factors in our environment, fortifying our bodies defense mechanisms, good nutrition and vitamin therapy, exercise, treating medical illnesses, all working in conjunction with traditional allopathic medicine. This approach is key to optimal body functioning and personal wellbeing, but unfortunately is not addressed in current healthcare. After a comprehensive medical assessment, physical examination, and blood tests, Dr. Mahmud tailors care to each patient’s needs by providing specialized treatment based on a “total-health” integrative approach that addresses the whole person, not just symptoms, thereby restoring energy, wellness, and vitality and avoiding medication dependence.
