She completed her psychiatry internship at Hartford Hospital’s Institute of Living in Connecticut, followed by an adult psychiatry residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Pennsylvania, where she was recognized as Resident of the Year for inpatient psychiatry. She went on to complete a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where she became board-eligible in forensic psychiatry.
Her diverse background includes extensive work in clinical, academic, and forensic settings. Dr. Polk’s expertise spans child and adolescent psychiatry, trauma, mood and behavioral disorders, and forensic evaluations. She is a member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law and remains passionate about bridging the gap between mental health and the legal system to ensure compassionate, informed care.
Dr. Polk is driven by a deep belief in the importance of mental health and strives to provide every patient with thoughtful, comprehensive, and individualized treatment.
