I just moved to the area and I need a new doctor to refill my medicine. I've been taking my medicine for years and my health requires that I take it for the rest of my life. I asked Muhammad to refill my prescription and he was uncomfortable with my particular medication. In the course of our conversation told him numerous time that I don't have time to drive all the way back to my old doctor (in a different state 6 hours away) and will certainly and without a doubt be sick unless it was refilled because I only had 2 days left. Muhammad refused to prescribe my medicine based on his own personal views, which would have caused me to go off of my meds, causing me great distress that my health was in danger. Ultimately I had to go to the emergency room where I found that the doctor was compassionate and cared about her patients wellbeing. In my personal opinion, it is malpractice to refuse to give a patient their medicine based on your own personal beliefs. In my personal opinion, Muhammad Zakaria should be required to take a course in medical ethics in order to retain his medical license.
