Dr. Nancy Copeland joins Milestone Pediatrics after completion of her pediatric residency training at John's Hopkins Hospital. Originally hailing from the Midwest, Dr. Copeland completed her undergraduate training at DePauw University in Indiana. After graduation, she worked as a VISTA volunteer on a health project to help senior citizens access health care. Prior to medical school, Dr. Copeland completed a master's degree from Chicago Medical School in 2000. Subsequently, Dr. Copeland completed her internship at The University of Texas at Houston and residency at John's Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Copeland learned to speak Spanish in San Louis Potosi, Mexico through a high school exchange program. She has continued to develop her language skills through a variety of experiences including her working as a medical translator at a clinic in Guatemala and caring for Spanish speaking patients during medical school and residency. Dr. Copeland became a first time mom this March.
