Dr. Shoshani is a board certified pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus surgeon. She specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of pediatric and adult strabismus, as well as the treatment of all childhood eye conditions. She graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva University, received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed her ophthalmology residency at North Shore-LIJ Hofstra, where she served as chief resident. From there she went on to complete her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Montefiore Medical Center of Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Shoshani loves taking care of her patient and their families. Her goals are to help each child develop healthy eyes and achieve their best possible vision. She treats many children with special needs, including Autism, Down Syndrome, genetic disorders, and other syndromes and is fellowship-trained to perform a wide variety of pediatric ophthalmic surgeries, including pediatric and adult strabismus surgery, cataract surgery, tear duct surgery, and oculoplastic surgery.
Dr. Shoshani also treats adults with eye muscle disorders and double vision stemming from a wide variety of causes, including thyroid disorders, cranial nerve disorders, tumors, and long-standing strabismus. She utilizes both medical and surgical treatment to achieve the best possible results for her patients in accordance with their goals.
She believes in and is committed to excellent and caring treatment of her patients and their families. She looks forward to forging long-term relationships with all of her patients and to welcoming new patients to the practice.

I was happily surprised to see that a physician read up on the patient notes about me from another doctor before I even met her. I did not realize this at first because she asked me some of the same questions as the referring physician. I did not know how to articulate my problem.
It was only when I gave her inconsistent answers regarding a complaint that she then pursued a line of questioning followed by corresponding eye exams that she was able to understand what my issue was.
I felt pressured at times to give descriptions while she rapidly challenged my vision and orientation. I am very thankful that she was both willing, undeterred, and patient to help diagnose my condition and lead me to finally find a path for treatment.
Dr. Shoshani had the kind of tenacity to pursue the cause of my symptoms in a way that I have I have not seen other physicians do before.

She was very detailed with the information that she shared with me regarding my son who had an appointment with her. She told me what I need to look for going forward that I should be concerned about and how to treat in addition to what not to be concerned about. After I read the reviews I made an appointment right away so happy I brought my daughter to Dr. Shoshani, she is professional knows what she is doing and made me feel very comfortable and at ease that my daughter would be well taken care of.

The wait time is absolutely insane. They shouldn’t overbook their office. The office itself is kind of cramped and if you have multiple children needing to be seen by the doctor, you will be on top of each other. Doctor Shoshani rushed a lot since she did have a lot of patients.

My appointment time was 4 and I juggled my schedule and got there by 4 after making sure that we will be seen without long wait. We sat there till 4:50 without any new pts forms given to us. They kept saying you are next and since we are emergency, we should be seen shortly. I will not recommend this office due to lengthy waits time and office was old and stuffy.

I would have gone at a time where I had more time. I did not know it was a Pediatrics Specialty Office and new patients appointments would be up to 2 hours. Since it was a Sunday am, the office was full of children who were out of school so my time wait for everything took me 3hour & 45 min.. I would have liked that info on the Zocdoc to have adjusted my time better!
Dr Mina was very efficient and competent. I would recommend her and tell my friends when NOT to set an apt!

Dr. Shoshani was so nice and understanding. I had a wonderful experience in the office. The doctor took the time to explain the condition & my daughters treatment options. I didn't feel like we were being rushed and we also didn't have to wait forever to see her. I would highly recommend scheduling an appointment to see her if your child needs to see an ophthalmologist.
