**Total Urology Care of NY charges a $60 fee for canceled appointments within 24 hours, and no-shows** Dr. Nefertiti Childrey, a native of Montgomery, Alabama, started her journey to become a urologist after graduating from Hampton University. She went on to receive her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine (now Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine). She developed an interest in Urology after working as a Clinical Research Associate in graduate school, where she successfully managed several urologic clinical trials.
During her residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Childrey combined her passion for both urology and community service and obtained a scholarship with International Volunteers of Urology. Through this program, she was able to travel alongside Urologists from around the globe to help others in need by providing urologic care in Maputo, Mozambique.
After completing her urology residency in 2012, Dr. Childrey relocated to Fayetteville, North Carolina where she practiced as a Staff Urologist at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center until 2018. Her clinical interests are in general urology. She treats conditions such as Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, kidney stones, urologic cancer, erectile dysfunction and overactive bladder. She is also very passionate about preventative healthcare. In her spare time, Dr. Childrey is an avid barre participant, enjoys traveling to experience new cultures and cuisine, and loves spending time with family and friends.

By far one of the most thorough and detailed doctors I've ever visited. She took her time to go over each of my concerns and explained the procedures step by step. The staff/receptionist were also great and the ambiance of the office was much more than expected. They had a darn charging deck for patient phones.......A1 SERVICE!!!!!!

Dr. Childrey is very warm and supportive and explains everything very thoroughly. Would definitely recommend! Make sure to keep a record/take some notes of what happens at each appointment so you can remind her, though, because its a busy practice and the visit summaries aren't very detailed.

Dr. Childrey always gave exceptional advice and told me honestly where I stood. She gave me the best prostate biopsy ever, less pain than I ever imagined. Any referral she gave me was for the best medical service provider available. She was only my doctor for a few years, but I have total trust in her.
