He continued his training by obtaining a residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation from NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Columbia University Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in pain-pallative care from Beth Israel Medical Center.

Dr Monaghan gave me a thorough examination and discussed all my options very patiently. He answered all my questions and even used a model of the spine to show me what the procedure would be if I opted for it. He did not push for anything and was in favor of a conservative approach. I highly recommend him. Showed concern and caring.
