Dr. Gulati was very pleasant as usual, but I spent nearly two hours at the office. That is an unacceptable amount of time to spend for a medical appointment.

Dr. Gulati is wonderful. The office space could use a makeover, but the staff at R. Consultants is fantastic. Thanks Hassan et al! The only downside (other than the weird outdated waiting room) was the wait time - I spent a total of 2 hours in the office for a routine checkup. Still, I would recommend this practice.

More about Dr. Nishi Gulati, MD

At Retina Consultants, we do not prescribe contact lenses. As her patients will attest, Dr. Nishi Gulati is one of the most active Ophthalmologists you’ll find in the New York metro area. Dr. Nishi was vey thourough in her examination and explained all my questions clearly and with enough information.
Verified patient
Excellent, knowledgeable and very caring. However the front desk employees NEED little improvement in PR.
She and the staff were wonderful. Very professional and went out of their way to assist me. Much appreciated!

Patients should be aware that her practice does not take vision insurance. Also, you must pay for parking.
Very friendly, very professional. The wait was almost an hour. Not sure if she overbooked or what.
Excellent physician. Courteous and answers all questions.

Dr. Gulati and her staff were great!
I didn't like that they left the doors open during the appointment and/or when I was waiting to be seen. I would have preferred that they left the door closed so I couldn't hear them talking about my case.

Very thorough and professional with an excellent bedside manner. The staff was also very good, little to no wait time and very friendly. I highly recommend this doctors office!!
Very efficient, yet extremely thorough eye exam. Dr Gulati and her assistant were very polite and attentive. The wait--in the reception area and exam room--was next to nothing. I would definitely recommend Dr Gulati to my friends.
Everyone in the office of Doctor Gulati was extremely kind. Unfortunately, when I showed up for my doctor's visit, I was notified that this office does not prescribe or treat patients in need of contacts. So patients in need of contacts or an updated contact prescription should go elsewhere :)
I feel that I am in good hands. She and I are pleased that there is no inflammation present and my eye pressure is being controlled by medications Fingers are crossed for the future

Excellent service once I actually got to see Dr. Gulati. However, the wait time was over 90 minutes which seemed a little excessive. I'll continue to see her and appreciate her care knowing it might take a while.
Good & Bad comments. Their staff was VERY kind and attentive. From the front desk, to the nurse, to the ophthalmologist, and to Dr. Gulati. However the front desk asked me to call my insurance to confirm my visit was covered. I already knew this, but they wanted me to confirm before being seen. Appointment was at 10:30, and I didn't leave until 12pm. The office staff were emptying files from a cabinet in my room while the Dr was talking to me. I found that very distracting. If you're looking for a one stop shop, this is the place, however I will not be returning as I don't require any eye treatment.

I really enjoy Dr. Gulati - she is very good at explaining and taking my questions. Perhaps, too goo? I always wait 3+ hours between tests and eye dilation (it doesn't take 30 minutes). Not sure it is worth the wait and drain on my vacation time at work.
Dr. Gulati was super. I was not able to get my eyeglass prescription because of the long wait to see the technician. I waited 35 minutes after Dr. Gulati was finished with me and still had not seen the technician. That was just too long.

Very professional and informative.

This was my first visit, and was a routine check up for glaucoma. I was pleased with the visit. Dr. Gulati was professional, pleasant and patient. She and her staff answered any questions I had politely and thoroughly.
Great experience.

Dr. Gulati has a great bedside manner - she was willing to hear everything I had to ask and say about my ailment and ran all the tests necessary (as well as some "just in case" which is refreshing to see). She and her staff team (particularly Melissa and Carla) were fantastic and went above and beyond. She was familiar with my disease and even though obscure, how to treat it! I would highly recommend seeing Dr. Gulati.
There were some long waiting periods once seen by Dr. Gulati and the nurse. Overall, though, my eyes were looked at by professionals, and I am satisfied I will get results.
Dr.Gulati is very good at her job; she is also very good at explaining scientific terms in plain English. Her positive attitude and warm demeanor made me feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend Dr.Gulati and her staff.
Overall good. I booked my same day appointment on zocdoc, which is fast and convenient. waiting is long since I am a new patient but the doctor is very nice, so are the frontdesk and technicians. Will recommend.
Dr. Gulati is fantastic. My only beef with the office is that the "no cell phone" policy is not enforced. There was a patient in the waiting room who was having a very loud, very public phone conversation, and none of the staff members told her to shut up! Overall, it was a very very good visit.
Verified patient
Dr. Gulati was knowledgeable and nice. The office seemed poorly organized though and I was kept waiting a long time. Also, the group has a number of limitations including that they don't offer prescriptions for contact lenses.
I would recommend Dr. Gulati, but I waited almost TWO HOURS for a routine eye exam. I think they forgot about me at the front desk. I learned my lesson the hard way- I should have walked up to ask after 30 minutes of sitting there with blurry eyes (from the dilation drops) and unable to read. I will be more assertive next time!
She is great - very nice and knows her stuff. She made sure to explain everything that she was doing and answer all my questions. The front desk staff is not very pleasant, however.
Highly recommended
Excellent
She was very nice and pleasant
I was very impressed with Dr. Gulati. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was less impressed with the person who initially brought me in for the first consultation. I felt like I was wasting her time and my eyes are pretty sensitive, and she did not explain to me the nature of the tests, resulting in some miscommunication. Overall, though, it was a good experience and I highly recommend Dr. Gulati.
Very personable and professional.
