Ori Melamud completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley. He then went on to medical school at the University of California, Irvine where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He continued there for his Urology residency training and was awarded the Sir Luke Fildes award for most outstanding urology resident by the faculty of the department in 2007. He continued there for fellowship training in robotic urologic surgery at the same institution where over 1000 robotic prostatectomies have been performed. He has lead the charge in bringing advanced minimally invasive surgery to the peninsula, including robotic, laparoscopic, and endoscopic urology.
