Dr. Hubbell has one of the best BackFit Health + Spine stories. He has always wanted to be a chiropractor. He even proclaimed it at his high school graduation reception. But as the saying goes: when we are busy making plans, life happens.
He grew up in St. Michaels, Arizona on the Navajo Reservation. He is an enrolled member of the Dine Nation. His maternal clan is Ashiihi (Salt People) and his paternal clan is Dibelizhinii (Black Sheep). Dr. Hubbell graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Exercise Science in 1999.
He then worked for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community in Scottsdale as an Exercise Specialist under the Diabetes Prevention Program. Dr. Hubbell was also working as a personal trainer at Life Time Fitness, where he met Dr. Yasmin Rahimi who encouraged him to apply at BackFit as an Exercise Therapist. Dr. Hubbell then worked for four years at BackFit helping patients with physical rehabilitation.
In 2011, when a family member- who was at his high school graduation reception- asked if he was a chiropractor yet, Dr. Hubbell was once again challenged to fulfill his lifelong dream. With the support of his family, he applied and was accepted to Palmer College of Chiropractic- West in San Jose, California. He and his wife loaded up a U-Haul and headed west!
Dr. Hubbell was an active student while attending Palmer College. He served as a member of the Palmer Sports Council, promoting chiropractic care at local Bay Area sporting events. Dr. Hubbell was also a Campus Guide for Palmer, helping new and prospective students feel welcome.
Finally, in March 2015, Dr. Hubbell earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer. With the vote of the Palmer Clinical Professors, Dr. Hubbell also won the coveted Clinical Excellence Award.
