Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Goel joined the world class Barrow Neurologic Associates in 2009 as the interventional pain physician. After securing her medical degree from the
University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Dr. Goel went on to complete her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Tufts-New England Medial Center (Boston) and then her fellowship in Interventional Pain Management in Anesthesia at the University of North Carolina Medical Center (Chapel Hill).
As an ACGME Board Certified Interventional Pain Physician, Dr. Goel offers high quality, individualized treatments for various pain conditions including neck pain, low back pain,
sciatica, disc herniations, nerve pain, joint pain, and arthritis. Her primary goal is to optimize each patient's quality of life by implementing a comprehensive treatment plan in a compassionate manner. In addition, Dr. Goel places a high importance on educating each patient on their pain condition and their treatment options.
When asked why she chose to pursue pain management, Dr. Goel stated, “Pain management is a logical extension of what I was working to achieve in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. As a physician who is able to accurately diagnose the source of my patient's pain, formulate treatment plans and provide directed intervention when necessary, I can offer my patients more options to ease their suffering and to maximize their functioning.”
Patients are offered medication management, physical therapy, and injection therapy, which include epidural steroid injection, selective nerve root blocks, facet joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, sacroiliac joint injections, peripheral joint injections, trigger point injections, and spinal cord stimulator trials.
