Patricia Walker, M.D. specializes in the care and treatment of adults with cystic fibrosis (CF). She serves as Co-Director of Mount Sinai Beth Israel’s Cystic Fibrosis Center, and was recently appointed Acting Division Chief of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Walker conducts and oversees a wide variety of CF clinical research, including cutting edge trials on gene modulation investigational therapies, inhaled antibiotics, and the treatment of digestive complications of CF destined to influence pulmonary outcomes. Under her direction, the CF Center was successful in obtaining distinction as a Therapeutic Development Center for CF research trials. The CF team was able to establish a nasal potential difference lab, one of only a few such centers to do so in the Northeast. The team at the CF Center has been active in developing a multidisciplinary and integrative approach to the care of CF patients. She has lectured at numerous local and international scientific meetings. Dr. Walker came to Beth Israel Medical Center from Saint Vincent’s Hospital in 2010 where she was the also the presiding Chief of Pulmonary Medicine and Co-Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center. Dr. Walker’s medical training includes a residency in Internal Medicine at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan, and Fellowship Training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Palliative Care Medicine.
