INTERNAL MEDICINE/PRIMARY CARE & TRAVEL MEDICINE MEDICAL WEIGHT LOSS & MEDICAL SKIN CARE ALLERGY TESTING(Food&Environmental) Dr. Shirin Peters earned her M.D. at New York Medical College and is board-certified in General Internal Medicine. She completed residency training at the Former St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan, with a short stint at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Peters spent the year after completion of her residency training at a private practice in North Carolina. She simultaneously worked at a clinical research company where she acted as Principal Investigator on several large clinical trials. Here she learned about many emerging medical therapies for common chronic diseases, in their final stages of testing before FDA approval. Dr. Peters developed an interest in treatments for obesity through her work experiences so far, both in New York and North Carolina, as well as experiences with the disease entity and its complications in her personal life. She noticed that obesity was either the root cause or an exacerbating factor for many chronic medical problems in her patients. She began to feel that finding an effective way to treat obesity in a person would be the ultimate preventative medicine and would lead to significant improvements in many of their other medical problems. After studying materials from the American Society of Bariatric Physicians and the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine, Dr. Peters observed a weight loss program already established at the practice where she worked. She attended courses on medical weight loss strategies, developed an arsenal of proven approaches to weight loss, and Urban Orchid Medical was born.

Great experience!! Everybody in the office was so kind and easy to talk to. I would recommend it to everyone!
She is excellent highly recommend
The entire office was very professional. The doctor was friendly and personable and very knowledgeable. I would recommend going here.
Very disorganized staff and office. I like Dr Shirin but this is an amateur run practice.
Bit of an odd experience, waited about 30 minutes before being seen where they asked me questions and ran a couple tests, then I had to wait 20 more minutes before I spoke with another doctor who asked me the same questions the previous doctor did. I feel my appointment time could have been cut in half
Literally one of the very worst experiences I have had with a doctors' office. I have been trying to call for two days straight and no one seems to answer the phone. Considering how small this clinic is, it is absolutely horrifying. (When I was seen there last week, there were three people working watching TV, but no one can answer the phone...) They send you a text system to connect with but they don't seem to respond to this system either. Considering I received a notice that I need a medically required examine, and I am solely waiting on a notice to be sent to another doctor from this office- I can't explain the frustration. I would in no way recommend considering the unprofessionalism and lack of any concern from a medical provider.
Great doctor.... Very knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend her.
First - I didn't see the doctor, I saw her assistant. Which is fine because it was a routine medical. Pros: no wait time :) Cons: they made me fill a questionnaire, the doctor's assistant aswed the exact same questions, and then the nurse asked some of the same questions. Talk about being efficient! Overall happy because it was quick :)
Dr. Peters is warm, professional and honest. The office is well taken care of - I highly recommend her.
I was in and out! Great experience and amazing receptionist.
This clinic always makes me wait over 45 minutes to be seen for 5 minutes. They have no respect for their patients’ time.
Best in town
Dr. Peters was very concerned. Set up my labs & other testing right a way. Really nice with a nice bedside manner. Highly recommend.
The staff member who did my intake was very kind, friendly and professional. The downside was the long wait. I waited over a hour and 45 minutes for a 3-minute interaction with the doctor, who rushed me along and didn’t do a skin check like I asked. I didn’t bring it up because I wanted to leave. Also, the waiting “room” was merely a hallway with the tv blaring. It’s unclear if the volume was so high to drown out voices because I was still able to hear other patients and staff speaking behind closed doors. I ultimately wasn’t able to get a gynecological exam because the person I met had different qualifications than the doctor I booked with on zocdoc. Additionally, their practice seemed to push cosmetic surgery. I will think twice about booking a place simple because they have appointments after 6pm.
I was seen by Dr Hussain and the overall experience was definitely one of my top doctors visits, I felt comfortable and at ease the staff was very friendly and I felt like I was being properly taken care of my entire time
Dr. Peters' office is unreliable. They lost my test results, and then said that "we might have not done the right test" for a time-sensitive and potentially life-threatening issue. After they were so unhelpful and unresponsive about this, I ended up having to go to another doctor to be treated, and they were pretty appalled by the incompetency of this practice. I would never recommend Dr. Peters as a primary care provider, because primary care providers are supposed to be your first line of medical support, and she couldn't be further from consistent and supportive.
Dr Shirin was extremely helpful, competent and friendly. I was very impressed with the practice as a whole and her professionalism. I came across her clinic by chance and will definitely make this my regular doctor's. Highly recommended.
I had a great experience during my visit. There was little to no wait time at all. Dr. Shirin Peters was very knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and offered to review all of my lab and other test results in detail as they become available.
I’m kind of done with this MD and her incompetent staff and shady. billing practices. Five years and I’m looking for a primary doctor that values their patients not just to generate revenue.
My appointment was at 12:45pm and I walked in around 12:55pm. However I didn’t get to see the doctor until 1:10pm. There were 3 person who checked in after me all went in sooner than me. Besides the strangely long waiting, they’re great!!
Always seen by Doctor or PA right away. Prescriptions called in right away, and picked up within the hour.
very kind and clear about my concerns
Good bedside manner Kept me informed Shared a cool app that works like WhatsApp between you and the doctor ????????????????????
To note, I don’t usually write reviews- whether it be yelp, zocdoc, what have you... though I feel obligated to share the adverse experience I just had, as the anonymity of Zocdoc might lead you to say, ‘hey I’ll give this place a try’ like I did. Don’t. Don’t waste your time coming here. The most helpful person in the office was the receptionist. Don’t expect anything you cannot gain/learn on the internet. Even when I attempted to restate my symptoms, as I figured I was being misunderstood, the doctor stated that she’d rather not repeat herself and insisted I wrap up the appt because she had other patients waiting. Leaving with the same knowledge of my sickness I had previous to coming in, I’m very disappointed.
Everyone was warm & welcoming.
Scam doctor! Stay away!
I've been coming to Dr Peters' office for years, but now that I am seeing other practitioners (I'm not even sure if Dr. Peters herself comes in normally), I have been consistently disappointed. I had multiple appointments last year; at every single intake, the nurse asked when my last standard procedures took place - very basic procedures that took place at their office. It's scary to feel that your own doctor can't keep your medical records straight. When I came into the office, I was not made to feel very comfortable with some test results. And I do not want to go into the office every time I have a question about my prescription. I asked questions about my medications through Klara, the (terrible) online systems, I get responses that don't answer my question. My question about what is the difference between the two medications was responded to with the two generic names for the drugs. My question about what is the difference in dosage was answered with the numbers. There was no information provided on side effects, reasons why something changed, or any context at all. Why do you think I asked a doctor instead of WebMD? It's like working with an outdated robot instead of humans. Despite this being the most conveniently located doctor for me, I am taking my medical care elsewhere. I have no medical issues, and it should not be this hard to just get simple daily prescriptions. I can only imagine what someone with a real need for care would have to go through. To be fair, I miss Dr. Peters - I never had these issues when she was my PCP instead of the other physicians who never even remember me, even when I had appointments 1 week apart for a follow-up.
She was very attentive and thorough and followed up on everything.
I love this office! Everyone is so sweet and the office is cute and welcoming.
Very professional. Very helpful.
45 min wait time for the first round of appointments is ridiculous. Staff were late and slow to set up not to mention pretty cold and not appreciative at all that patients were then late for morning meetings. At the very least, give out coffee vouchers.
I had to wait for over an hour. Unacceptable.
Honestly is was one of the most awful experiences i've had in a medical office of any kind. Literally every person in the waiting room had their appointment messed up by the secretary (like, 8 people), and the office itself was dingy, very cramped, and dirty (I don't appreciate seeing a bucket of blood samples sitting open by the check-in desk?). The physician's assistant was nice but honestly it seemed like he was googling the answers to my pretty basic questions literally as i asked them. Absolutely avoid this place, please.
Doctors normally make me uncomfortable but not here!!
Poor experience, lost labs and never received apology or results.
Was seen right away. Doctor and staff were great.
Dr. Peters is the best. I've been seeing her for a few years now. Staff is amazing and nice. I was in and out of my annual physical within 45 minutes and they saw me right away.
"Amazing woman" very informative and helpful with my situation ....
Great office. Friendly staff. I was checked in and sitting with the doctor quickly. Zero complaints.
Dr. Peters is great. She didn't rust me as I had many questions. She was very helpful and willing to go the extra mile. SHe even called my insurance company while I was with her to see what they would and wouldn't cover. Some of the things I discussed were very personal and I was nervous about talking to anyone about it. She made me feel very comfortable and was very easy to talk to.
I booked an annual physical appointment, but when I got to the office they said it wasn't registered in the system. Due to the time of day, they asked that I reschedule.
She was fantastic and has a solid team. Aesthetics are no frills but I was impressed with how extensive the tests were and how knowledgeable and thorough she was while still being able to get me back to work within my hour lunch break
The whole process was quite smooth and efficient, and Shirin was excellent!
The doctor was rude and unhelpful. Did not seem to care about my condition at all.
He staff was very professional and kept my annual exam flowing without much wait time. Dr Peters listened to my concerns and I felt it was easy to talk to her. Her staff was also sensitive to my billing concerns and answered all my questions as well.
Awesome staff & convenient location.
I've been to Dr. Peters since 2013 for my annual pap. I was not informed that Dr. Peters was out and that I would be examined by a male, prior to my appointment or during my check-in. Both the nurse and Doctor didn't know why I was being seen for my appointment when I specifically scheduled an annual pap. The nurse also had to "search" for my records as if I had never been there, after this being my 4th visit. You can also hear entire conversations from the waiting room from inside the screening room, not really allowing for privacy. When I was seen by the doctor, he greeted me twice as "Mister." Was the worst experience I've had, and won't be returning as a patient in the future.
My appointment went well. Dr. Peters is very nice, not very talkative it seems. I felt like she was asking questions just because she had to.All of the other people were very nice as well. Trouble with taking my blood though and had to do it somewhere else. Was told that that happens many times..
The first appointment was fine, except I felt like the doctor wasn't listening to me. The second appointment I had to wait about 2 hours and it was a follow-up. I had a third scheduled and ended up stuck at home due to a plumbing problem, for which the office wanted to charge me a fine. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
This was my first appointment. I found everyone in the office to be very personable and thorough, including the receptionist, nurse and doctor. Refreshing to have a whole office with such great people, I'll definitely keep going here.
Very transactional. Receptionist was extremely unprofessional and did not properly check my insurance information, also played loud music.
Bedside manner is everything I could ask for and whenever I had questions she was happy to take whatever time necessary to explain.
She was polite and respectful. Quick visit but the administrative affairs took a long time and the office wasn't run in the most efficient manner. I spent 2 hours in the office for an annual physical.
First visit here, I liked how clean and easy the check in process was. Dr Shirin and the staff were really kinda and accommodating.
Very helpful and great bedside manner!
I liked Dr. Peters, unfortunately, I had to stop seeing her because of the office. I was never able to contact anyone. They never answered the phone and the voicemail box would never accept messages. It became a huge issue when I couldn't get my prescription filled because no one would ever answer. It is so disappointing because Dr. Peters is really great. If you can deal with a poorly run office, I totally recommend Dr. Peters.
Every single person in the office was amazing. They were all lovely and kind and there's not a single bad thing I could say about my experience.
She is an excellent Doctor, I strongly recommend her
I had a very disappointing experience at Dr. Shrin Peters' office. For my first appointment, she did not see me, another internist did and that woman was actually pretty great. But it was not what I expected going in. After hearing my worries, the internist ordered a blood test and asked me to return for an ultrasound. I travel a lot for work so making time for the follow-up was hard but in my second meeting I did see Dr. Peters and she seemed indifferent to my concerns. I also felt like I was asking too many questions regarding my health and she was getting annoyed. It also turns out that the blood test did not test for all the things she wanted, so I had to do another blood test and wait another couple of weeks to know the results. She also ordered for another ultrasound and I had to remind her that I had already done one. She wasn't aware of my case. Getting a hold of the doc's office to get my results, while I was traveling was a nightmare. Dr. Peters finally responded to my voicemails through Klara and updated me and asked me to come in for a follow-up but the back and forth, the delays, and the attitude was unsatisfactory enough that I have decided to see another doctor. However, her nurses and support staff are great!
Dealing with this office was terrible. I was assured that one of the vaccines that I received would be reimbursable through my insurance, but that I would need to pay out of pocket. It then took about six weeks and numerous phone calls to get the office to submit the claim to my insurance company and over four and a half months and at least ten more phone calls to get the doctor's office to reimburse me (two and a half months after the insurance company paid out the claim). Dr. Peters was fine, but Bethany Medical Clinic is very dishonest and tries to rip off its customers. This clinic's management and billing department clearly has no shame or regard for ethical business practices. I would never recommend that anyone go there. Truly an awful experience that wasted countless hours of my time.
Dr. Peters was 30 minutes late for my appointment, not because she was running late with another patient but because she'd gone out for to get coffee. When she did see me, not a word of apology was offered. The annual gyn exam I got was quick and easy.
I have never felt the need to post a negative review for anything but I felt the need to warn whoever might see this - STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE. They are so unprofessional and such a mess!!! I am switching immediately. I wish I would have known sooner. DO NOT GO!
After reading reviews, i expected much more, may be it wasn't her best day, but she seemed a bit indifferent. She did listen to me, but i left under the impression that she just wanted to finish my appointment asap and my issue wasn't a big deal. Overall it was good.
The appointment was quick and easy. Everyone in the office was helpful and attentive.
Highly recommend the staff was amazing so welcoming first time I had blood drawn with no pain
everyone in the office was delightful!
Was seen to fairly quickly.
It is rare to find a doctor who seems to genuinely care and has time to answer questions. Dr. Peters is definitely one of those doctors. She personally made sure my visit was quick and painless -- even taking my blood samples herself because the nurse was occupied at the time.
Excellent, thorough doctor. Highly recommend!
You have to be consistant with other the doctor and receptionist. They were suppose to call in a prescription (left office by 10:45) 3 hours later they never called in the prescription. Also you have to remind doctor to please check for ailment. Now I have to go to urgent care
Dr Peters and her NP associates do a great job of well rounded primary care. The medical assistants get a quick assessment, you can get lab work done upstairs and then come back and finish your appointment- I believe they even do X-rays in some cases. As an RN I feel like they take great care of me and I have recommended them to many friends.
I am going to tell you the truth about this experience. This is an unethical group of people. I told them I was in for a routine yearly exam. They ran a battery of in office tests and labs that I did not ask for or need. I now owe hundreds of dollars. Please BEWARE. Ask them what they are doing and if it is covered by your insurance!
Though Dr. Peters is very nice and knowledgeable, I think that the level of service has really gone down since they have expanded the practice. Some of the medical assistants are nice, some are very unprofessional. I can never get anyone on the phone so if I am having an issue with a pharmacy or the like, I am out of luck. One time they never made the call to a specialist that they were supposed to make a recommendation for and I had to stand there while that office tried to contact Bethany med. clinic. In addition, they are always pushing their other services there. The dermatologist and worse, the guy who does the sonograms. I was not informed that my insurance did not cover this procedure incidentally. The sonogram technician and his assistant were sniping at each other while I was in the room! And, he is overall quite rude. As far as billing, every time I have a physical I get these huge bills even though my insurance covers it. I repeatedly have to send them to Bethany to have it corrected. I do like Dr. Peters but it is a shame that with growth there has been such a downhill slide in other areas.
The physician: 1. Didn't go through my annual physical results thoroughly or in an organized fashion. I had come in with some concerns and she seemed to follow my lead. 2. No 'next steps' mentioned on the concerns I shared. I am very disappointed with the staff: 1. They didn't bother to make sure the sample taken had my name on it. I had to walk back and ask them and it turned out they hadn't preserved it properly. 2. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Payment amount wasn't clear and was modified twice. When asked, the person didn't give me a reason why and made it seem like I was trying to bargain or some such thing. Their system: 1. My test results are not updated in their system, Klara,I had to follow up with Quest Diagnostics to get a copy prior to seeing the physician. 2. There are no notes that are available after my visit. Wait time: Over 40 minutes.
Dr. Peters is the best!!
Office was clean and staff were friendly and efficient. Dr Peters had great bedside manners and was genuinely concerned for me. Had a great friendly spirit.
Very nice staff! Nice office, all the new tech stuff for checking in and making appointments, which is appreciated. I got in before the rush the office was filling up just as I was leaving! Happy with my choice of moving to Dr. Peters so far!
Dr. Peters is very knowledgeable and professional, and definitely went out of her way to help me out.
Dr. Peters is thorough, efficient and kind. Would highly recommend. Her staff is also very pleasant and professional.
Very thorough. Good doctor. Very pleased.
Dr. Peters was nice and efficient, and her nurse Rosa was very kind and helpful. Some of the other nurses taking my vitals had horrible bedside manner, so I'd say some of the staff in this office is wonderful, the others need some work.
It was a fast and efficient. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Dr. Peters is very attentive and kind and answers all my questions with regards to my symptoms and address all my issues right away
Very professional, personable. Great doctor!
She was fine, although her staff kept trying to push extra services which I've never experiences. I had to turn down an allergy test, skin screening and cancer screening. I was there because I was feeling unwell- not a yearly physical. Additionally, her billing department has been extremely unprofessional with me. The fact that you can only settle the bill over the phone seems unsafe.
I've been seeing Peter's and her staff for about 3 years now. My experience has declined rapidly in the last year with her office and staff. I do not get prompt follow-up with lab results (sometimes never followed-up), I seem to get charged for everything including annual exams (which if coded correctly to insurance, is co-pay free) , and it recently took over a month for me to get a renewal on a prescription I've been taking for 2 years. The worst part is the communication the staff have there. My insurance is in-network which was I why I chose this practice, but at some point this changed. I only know this after recently receiving very large bills for annual medical exams. This is something the office should have notified me of since the SAME insurance was just accepted the months prior. This practice now feels like a careless place to seek medical care.
My appointment for a physical took 2 hours. I booked my appointment through ZocDoc and 'New Patient Appointment' and put in the notes that I am booking the appointment to schedule my annual physical. The doctor's office had my appointment in as a 'Sick' appointment, thus not allotting sufficient time for a physical. The associate at the front desk told me that they had double booked that morning. The staff at the doctor's office has the intention of providing quality health services, but they came across being very unorganized and unprofessional.
Dr. Peters is awesome! She's quick and efficient, but takes the time to answers questions if you have any.
Dr. Peters seemed very nice on first meeting.
Comprehensive and holistic health. Easy to make appointments and get new prescriptions. Very communicative and always improving. A great primary care dr.
Dr. Peters was extremely understanding and professional. I felt I could confide in her and will happily see her again.
Helpful, smooth, were able to answer my questions and determine a remedy.
I came in with to get treated for a skin issue with a rash all over my body. She said that they use a pharma company that delivers meds to you and they would call me. Turns out this place mails you the medicine. Being that I am covered in an itchy breakout, waiting for meds in the mail wasn't ok so I called twice to try and get them to send to my pharmacy. I feel like I wasted a copay because they only want to use a specific pharmacy. I will say the staff was extremely nice, but that is a pretty big issue!
Dr. Peters was professional but not very warm or friendly. I was told that I would be called with my lab results a week after my appointment, however I never received a call and found it very difficult to get anyone on the phone when I called the office. I found out months later that I was never informed of negative test results that I should have been, as the receptionist had forgotten to call me. I would not recommend this Dr. and will most likely not see her again.
Doctors are good, but the staff there is extremely unhelpful. My prescription that I had been taking for 5 years suddenly required doctor authorization (which requires the doctor to make ONE phone call), and it's now taking over a week to get the problem sorted out. When I finally got a staff member to pick up the phone, after days of trying email and Klara, that person just took my request and threw it out, evidently. Then the next day they tell me they had called the insurance company "but they didn't get back to [them] yet." Sooo they just stopped trying apparently. I had to call the insurance company myself and get all the information then relay it to them. The problem is still not resolved as of now. I'm getting a new doctor immediately because I've never felt so helpless with my own medical information.
The office was pretty efficient, you move from 1 thing to another. I checked in, got there early and was taken in early. Afterwards I got my vitals and EKG done with medical assistant, that went quickly. Then I had my visit with Dr Peters- only took a few minutes, didn't say much but I was there just for a routine physical. Then went upstairs to do bloodwork. Overall, pretty efficient and quick service.
Dr. Peters is great. The staff however is rude and unorganized. They should be dressed in scrubs instead of blending in with the patients. It once too like 3 weeks to get my medical record faxed to my neurologist. It's a mess.
Doctor was great - the wait, not so much. Very busy and waiting time was over an hour...
Very friendly staff but not very knowledgeable. She was searching on Google for answers to most of my questions. The wait is also long for everything.
Dr Peters is very knowledgeable but seems timid sometimes and I don't always trust her diagnosis as she seems young and not always assertive with her thoughts. For the most part she seems knowledgeable but the associates in the office who you meet with beforehand to take your vitals, and the front desk staff seem very unorganized every time I'm there. I've been multiple times and they seem to have gotten worse over the past 3 years. The main issue is that I feel like Dr Peters is administering to many tests (i.e blood work, EKG, ultra-sound) and not asking enough investigative questions to really get to the bottom of the issue.
I've been to this practice a few times. They are always prompt and courteous. Rose was especially great - she explained every test and had me out quickly.
Great! Professional, polite & to the point!
It was a small office, but very clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
This office is manipulative and corrupt. They basically want to steal your money and do everything they can including threatening to charge you if you do not comply with their scams. It is unethical and borderline illegal. do not go here and find an office that treats you like a patient and not a dollar sign.
Clean and professional. The staff members were all great.
The staff is professional, knowledgeable and extremely kind. I'm happy to have chosen Dr Peters has my primary doctor.
Definitely an improvement from the last time I was there! The front desk person was friendly, the person who took my vitals was professional and kind, and the P.A. listened, provided advice, and made me feel comfortable addressing a few concerns. And everything went very quickly!
The office was warm and welcoming, definitely had a boutique feel. I loved Rose, she was so kind and talked me through everything. Dr. Peters patiently listened to all of my concerns and then made a plan for me. Overall, I felt very well taken care of, and I look forward to my upcoming appointments. I also think it's so convenient that they have a testing center upstairs and that specialists hold appointments there on different days - a full service office.
Rose was great. But the doctor was unconcerned about my symptoms and dismissed all abnormal test results.
Very thorough annual exam. Doctor understood my concern and set me up for an extra test right away so I wouldn't have to make a second appointment. I do wish that I could have spoken to her again after the tests. The nurse, Rose, was wonderful -- very kind, funny, and attentive.
Easily booked a prescription refill appointment with ZocDoc on same day as appointment. When I went, I was alone in the office waiting area and waited less than 5 minutes for the assistant to take me in for vitals and then less than 3 minute wait for the P.A. to call me in. I was in and out in 20 minutes and wasn't rushed. Very professional staff.
I had previous seen Dr. Peters and selected my time specifically to see her but ended up with the PA with no notice.
Dr Peters exemplifies the modern doctor with the understanding, smarts and compassion every patient should have the access to. If you're looking around for a doctor - I have been with her for almost 5+ years and would highly recommend. Even though I have moved I refuse to go to anyone else!
This isn't a review for Shirin Peters, it's a review of the practice she works at, Bethany Medical. This place is so bad. Everything is a mess, and it's so disorganized there. I can't believe I stayed there as long as I did. It feels like someone's basement apartment that has kids - papers, equipment, everything strewn about on the floor. It's impossible to reach anyone on the phone there, and impossible to book an appointment within a reasonable time. For a while, my pharmacy was calling me and leaving voicemails telling me there was a hold up with one of prescriptions, but not to worry because they were "trying to reach them" and sort it out. After two weeks, I figured something must be wrong so I called a couple times (it takes a couple calls to get through) - turns out, they had denied my prescription, but hadn't thought to call to tell me about it. I ended up going off my prescription for two weeks because no one made the phone call to me that I had to book an annual physical to get it renewed. When I finally figured that out, it was another couple weeks until I could get in to see the doctor. Once I decided I had enough, I tried to get my medical records sent to me to switch doctors. I had to call two to three times a week for two months straight (and trying to use their patient portal "Klara") each time being forwarded to voicemails or cycled through a million different people. They came, two months later, and there was a big mistake in the papers - so bad I don't even feel comfortable writing about it here. Needless to say I moved on to a different doctor who I am very happy with and I will definitely not be going back to Bethany medical.
She didn't listen to me, didn't seem to care about anything I was telling her, didn't answer any of my questions, just told me to get a blood test, then didn't tell me the results of the blood test. Made me feel awful.
Super helpful staff! I went there for an annual physical and it didn't take as long as I expected. Rose was really patient with explaining the different tests that she would conduct. Blood work was taken upstairs in the same building. The PA was also really patient when I was explaining my allergy symptoms.
My visit was good with the actual doctor, but I had to fill out a ton of paperwork, and then had to answer the same questions I had been asked by a nurse, and then the doctor again. It was very inefficient. That being said, this was not an abnormal occurrence. The team is wonderful and it was a very comfortable visit!
Dr. Peters was quick & efficient! She knew I needed antibiotics right away and asked all the right questions. Lovely staff - great office if you have a cold and need to be seen right away.
Dr. Peters and her staff were extremely friendly, helpful, professional, thorough, and efficient. I practically did not have to wait to see Dr. Peters. Registering through zocdoc helped save time, this was probably the MOST painless and fast doctor's visit I've ever had. I would greatly recommend her to anyone.
Everyone is so nice and helpful!! Also very patient!
Dr. Peters has a great bedside manner and seems knowledgeable. The work-up done by the medical assistants prior to seeing her though was extremely lengthy (approx. 1hr) including an EKG, metabolic rate testing, and lung function testing. I will probably look for another primary care doctor where I don't need to go through that process.
It was a great visit! Dr.Peters was really nice! Blood work went very well! I didn't pass out!
Excellent all around.
Office was dirty and very unorganized. Started examining me without even realizing why I was there. Staff yelling across to one another and papers flying everywhere. Did not trust what was going on and did not feel sanitary. Doctor was fine but not very friendly and made me a little uncomfortable.
Definitely tried to upsell other services which seemed to be of a dubious efficacy. Gave me really confusing information about whether I should breastfeed while taking a medication--directly contradicting the literature she also emailed me that said there was no risk of using it. I would not go to this doctor again if I was breastfeeding because her email about side effects was a source of anxiety when, actually, the official information she sent me said that there was no risk. I took the medicine and was fine, by the way.
This isn't like the best looking place but they are very nice and polite. They have a second floor for blood work and take care of you without making you wait hours. I was pleased with how good my doctor was and that she answered all of my questions. They see you on Saturdays and that is huge for people who have to work during the week and I would recommend them for physicals on a Saturday.
It will be the last time. Wait is too long. Completely disorganized.
Dr Peters and her colleagues take good care of me.
Dr. Peters was very friendly and very informative. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I liked Dr. Peters very much. She was smart, patient, and caring. Her office staff on the other hand was very frustrating to deal with, and the office space was not comfortable. I did not return to this practice after two visits.
Wonderful bedside manner, I went in with a complaint and she called me quickly with information as soon as she received test results.
I love Dr. Peters. She has a very kind personality. She is willing to refer you to other reliable doctors. She is also very thorough and accommodating.
I thought Shirin Peters was pretty impersonal. My visit with her made me realize that healthcare is about money not necessarily quality of care. It seemed like she was constantly trying to upsell me on things that I didn't need. I also scheduled a physical 1 week later and it was like I had never been there before. She asked the same questions and had no recollection of my previous visit.
Dr. Peters seemed very rushed and didn't have time for my questions. She was brusk and came off judgmental and I would not recommend her to my friends.
Didn't seem interested. Was staring at her laptop most of the appointment. Did not think to offer any solutions that could help me without me asking.
I really liked this doctor, but decided a number of months ago that I'll be changing my primary care physician because of frequent cancellations. Whenever I would make an appointment for later in the day (anytime after 6pm) since I work 9-5, I would always the appointment weeks in advanced. The appointment was always confirmed initially, and then confirmed again via phone the same day as the appointment by their office around lunch time. Around 4-5pm, I would receive a phone call from their office again saying that the doctor needed to cancel and needed to go to a meeting. That was fine...the first few times. The last time and final time I had a scheduled appointment for 7pm, the same thing happened, but when the receptionist for the office called to tell me, she sounded very dishonest: "Dr. Peters has to cancel tonight because of an, um...um...um...because she has an, um.... meeting?" I checked ZocDoc, and realized that after 4pm (I believe) that I was the last appointment I could visibly see for the day. There would've been a 3 hour window from that appointment to my appointment. She's a very good doctor, but I don't like that my healthy-well being could be jeopardized simply because I can't make an appointment for earlier in the day. I'll find another doctor elsewhere that stands by their later appointments.
Horrible doctor! Absolutely horrible. I went in to see her and there was no follow up. I will never return to this office ever again.
it was great, dr. shirin was great but the office is slim/barebones and i needed more flex in the hours available.
Dr. Shirin Peters and her staff were very friendly and efficient. Will continue to make appointments here and make her my primary Doctor.
Very pleasant first-time experience! Will definitely go back.
Great staff, very informative and quick
I was not pleased with my visit to see Dr. Peters. I had to wait a rather long time to be seen for a very quick appointment. Dr. Peters rushed through my apt and then said that she would call in a prescription for me and never did. I called her office several times and left several messages and never got a response. The visit was a total waste of time and I am concerned that she never even ran the tests that she said she would run!
Great doctor and staff.
Overall my appointment exceeded all my expectations. I was seen immediately with zero wait time. All of my questions were answered in detail and follow up appointments were made at my convenience. I definitely recommend Dr. Peters!
Super standoffish. Gave the impression that she was too busy and my needs were silly. Basically just ordered a bunch of tests to shut me up.
Shirin is very attentive and kind. She asked alot of questions and was sincerely interested in learning as much as she could to best assist me. I would recommend her!
I appreciate that Dr. Peters does thorough testing and bloodwork during physicals and takes the time to sit down and talk over the results and lifestyle issues that may impact my health. She is always concerned about my wellbeing and helpful if I have any questions or issues. I've fortunately never had to go in with any serious problems, but she has been a great GP.
My concerns with this office are not the doctors that work there, but the office staff. Calls, voicemails, even emails into the general email address do not get addressed. I'm sorry, but I only ask for a primary doctor's office in which I can TALK to someone about getting test results sent to me or another Dr I am seeing, make a follow up or get a script faxed somewhere. My doctor's office shouldn't stress me out. Dr. Peters is lovely, its just a shame she works in this office.
I arrived 20 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment but was sitting in the office for over an hour and a half before I could do my pre-appointment testing. When I finally was able to meet with the doctor, I spoke with her for less than 10 minutes. We discussed getting bloodwork done during the visit but she must have forgotten to relay that information to the administrators. When I asked when bloodwork was going to happen, the nurse said I would have to wait for the doctor to come back and confirm. Given that I had been waiting there for a total of over 2.5 hours (I was waiting between a few other tests as well), I declined, paid, and walked out.
I thought Dr. Peters was nice but the office itself was not very professional or welcoming.
I'm still sitting in the doctors office. It's 1 pm. My appointment was originally scheduled for 9am and at 8:30, I got a phone call asking me to come in later because I would be waiting a long time if I came in when I was supposed to. I came in at 10:50, for my rescheduled visit at 11 to fill out paperwork. It took an hour and a half before I even saw Dr Peters. I was with her for under 10 minutes and she told me she wanted me to see a different doctor, who was a skin specialist. He was at lunch and supposed to be back by 12:30. Needless to say, he hasn't come back and I am still waiting. This is the most unprofessional office I have been in in quite sometime. While dr peters seems like a nice person, that does not make up for the fact that this office seems to be run by a slew of completely incompetent people. I will not be returning.
They did not call me with my test results until two weeks after they had received them. It would have been nice to know the test results when they got them. When they called me, they did not want to send me the real test results. Only sent me a sentence saying "probable" illnesses. Not helpful at all. Do not recommend.
I booked an GYN OB appointment. for people who's looking for that kind of clinic, don't go this place. The people who's doing my ultrasound was super unprofessional. And their machine is crappy, too. Spend more than 30 Minutes to do the ultrasound, because the women who's doing it was super unprofessional, she pressed super hard with a super slow speed because she have to take photos. They even forgot to do my blood test. But after all that unprofessional ultrasound process I decided to leave. Unbelievable. The doctor was really nice. Just the other health assistance could be much better.
Dr. Peters was pleasant and very detailed. She took time to explain and confirm what the test options were and how to proceed. I got to the office ~20 minutes early and no one was there yet but people arrived shortly after.
Dr. Peters was very helpful, patient, understanding, and thorough as usual.
My experience was great! I was seen quickly, I filled out the paperwork online so it was easy to check in, and everyone who worked there was cool. Also pluses: they're open on Saturdays. Clutch. And there's a lab upstairs, so you don't have to go somewhere else to get the heavy duty bloodwork. (I just went for a prescription refill with a new doctor)
Highly Recommend! She listens and makes you feel very comfortable. You can tell that she genuinely cares.
Dr. Peters herself isn't the worst doctor ever. She's okay, but her front desk team is awful. They are very unorganized and unprofessional. They are constantly trying to sell me something (pap smear - no thanks, I have a gynecologist; body fat composition test, allergy testing, skin care regime). It's off putting.
The most thorough physical exam I've ever had, which is appreciated as I have not had a number of the tests performed prior. Be sure you clear out a couple hours.
I feel like there is no follow through with Dr. Peters. I will visit and there was no remembering why I was there the last time. When I come in for something, I only end up waiting a week later to hear my blood test results as if this resolves any issues I may or may not be having. There is no further conversation about whatever xyz may be that I have placed the visit in the first place. Then, sometimes, I will get a random card for another office without further instruction - do I go see them? Do I just throw the card away?
I liked Dr. Peters' straightforward and efficient manner, but found it odd that she recommended I see a skin specialist when I don't have active skin problems. I also found it strange that the medical practitioner who took my vitals only asked and didn't bother to actually measure my height and weight.
I thought it was terribly disorganized and unprofessional. While everyone was friendly, I was completely in the dark the whole visit wondering what was going on, who was involved and what would happen next. There seemed to be a lot of people learning but no one seemed totally confident in what they were doing. During my allergy test there were constant knocks on the door and people coming in and out of the room while I was laying there half-clothed. It was a very anxiety provoking experience.
I do love Dr. Peters! She's sensitive and caring and I feel very comfortable with her!
The nurses working there do not seem quite professional.
Dr. Peters was very nice, short, sweet and too the point. I will definitely go back for her. However, the front desk had be wait over 45 minutes to be seen because they didn't have my paperwork set. I had to go to the desk several times just to have an answer on timing. A fifteen minute appointment turned into an hour
Dr..Peters is very nice and knowledgeable. However the organization and communication in this office is abysmal! Absolutely horrible, they pick up the phone one out of every three calls, when they do they are always rushed and don't seem to want to hear what you have to say. During a regular five minute call to book an appointment or ask a question I was put on hold two or three times. Once you arrive staff is very nice, but again the communication is severely lacking. On multiple occasions receptionist left voicemails with my private test results on my cell phone which is very unprofessional, not to mention nerve wracking.
Very warm welcoming right after you enter the office, very friendly staff, attentive and patient. I will recommend the place to all people i know
I can't say enough about Dr Peters and her Nurse Practitioner, Alice Bonner. They have both been so wonderful. The rest of the staff has also been excellent. I highly recommend this office. They are knowledgeable, so caring, and very approachable.
I've been to Dr. Peters a few times over the past few months. The office has billed me incorrectly every. single. time. Dr. Peters is not the most personable, comes off as cold and too busy to listen that closely. Not an awful experience, but certainly not conducive to the kind of relationship I want with my primary care doctor.
Dr. Peters is a quiet force! While she's always caring, considerate and giving, she is not afraid to be fierce in her commitment to her patient's well-being. She offers concrete advice for better health and happiness. I am so thrilled to have found her!
Dr. Peters is a compassionate and easy-going professional. I could not have found a better primary care doctor.
It was incredibly thorough and every single employee I was in contact with was friendly and helped put me at ease. I wish there was a little bit more communication prior to my appointment, as there were procedures done that I should have fasted for.
Although I had an appointment, my wait time was over 30 minutes. Not only that, but I did not feel like I was thoroughly checked for my physical. I will not see Dr. Peters again.
Good overall visit
Wow!! This doctor was amazing!!!! I came in with and extremely sore throat. She listened to everything I had to say and performed tests to figure out what was wrong with me. Very nice and personable!
Dr. Peters herself was fantastic, very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. She answered all of my questions thoroughly and efficiently without rushing me. However, the office staff called twice to reschedule my appointment which was a little annoying and then they were extremely disorganized during my appointment, so it took them two hours to get through routine exams for my physical.
Shes a good doctor
Everything was great.
She was very attentive about family history and very thorough with a great bedside manner! Highly recommend her!
I always enjoy my visits with Dr. Shirin. She's one of my favorite people with such an easy accessible manner. She hears what I say and appreciates my non standard approach to staying well by avoiding medications as much as possible.
Dr. Peters is always professional and takes her time with you.
Dr. Peters was super nice and knowledgeable. My visit was very efficient without feeling rushed. Highly recommend.
She was very nice
I've been seeing Dr. Peters for years now and have only good things to say about her and her team! I see her for my annual physical, which is always quick and easy. She's also treated me when I've gotten pneumonia and throat infections. I rarely have to wait more than 10 minutes to be seen - it's usually more like 5 minutes. Her staff is nice and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
During My last visit, I had to wait more than 1 hour for a venous Doppler
She is a incredible doctor.
Attentive, thoughtful and professional.
Dr. Peters is great. She's thoughtful and listens well. She's also referred me to excellent specialists. Be careful with lab testing, though. They have a BioReference lab upstairs that they send you to for all blood tests, and you should be sure your insurance covers that lab. I received a bill in the 4 figures after the fact and I've been trying to get Bethenny Medical Clinic to cover these costs, as I was not informed beforehand of those charges. The receptionists are helpful, and told me to fax in the bill, but I keep getting notices from BioReference. Other than that, this is a great office, with nice staff.
Dr. Peters is the only primary care doctor I've seen since moving to the city in 2012 and love her office! I've gone for my yearly physical and illness. I've seen both her and the NP at the office.. Both are friendly, professional, and provide thorough treatment. The office is a bit small/cramped, but hey this is NYC.
Entire staff is excellent
Dr Peters is really nice but (and I feel bad for saying this) she's not really a great doctor. She ran a battery of tests and sent me to several specialists but what I expect my primary care physician to do is to put all the info together and look at my health holistically, which she didn't do. There's just a lot of piecemeal info and no one to combine it into a larger picture and make sense of it and how it all relates to each other. It's ironic because it seems like she's collecting specialists in her office (they must have about 8 different specialists at her practice!) but no one talks to each other. Out of laziness (and possibly a loss of hope to find a good doc in nyc) --and I do think she's nice-- I've remained in her care.
Dr. Peters was nice and efficient - I was in and out in no time without feeling like I was rushed along! The nurses are great too! Would definitely recommend to anyone
As everyone says She is sweet, but she doesn't care much about the patient. Staff was good and friendly, And they took more care about me, I actually expended more time with them that with Doctor Peters. Perhaps is because she is so pregnant that should be at home resting instead of giving consults.
it was great!
Super friendly staff. Dr. Peters was very knowledgeable, patient, and sweet!
This was my first time visiting the office. I felt comfortable with Dr. Peters; she was efficient but listened to my concerns. She is very mellow and I appreciated this. Very happy that I chose her for a primary care physician!
My visit w/ Dr Peters was great her staff was friendly and she has wonderful bedside manner. This visit was at her old location which was near my job at the time and my visit was during my lunch break.
I thought Dr. Peters was very nice, but her office is poorly managed. I received abnormal pap results and was not able to speak with a competent medical professional about the results. Instead, I was referred to a specialist that was outside of my insurance network. It was a situation that was poorly handled. I will not, unfortunately, be returning to this office.
I probably won't be coming back to Dr. Peters. While she was perfectly nice, she didn't examine me at all during my visit. After I described my problem, she simply lined up an allergy panel and wrote out some prescriptions. After the allergy panel, nobody followed to talk to me about the results and I had to explicitly request a copy. I'm still unclear what the purpose of the panel was. In addition, after finding that the skin doctor was too busy to do a consultation, she wrote a prescription and handed it to the receptionist to give me without any information about what condition it was supposed to treat or proper usage.
Doctor Peters was extremely kind and helpful. She even took the time to help me understand my insurance. As a young, recent college grad finding a doctor and taking care of insurance on your own for the first time is slightly frightening and doctor Peters has been the best. I highly recommend her. If I were to offer a suggestion, her morning staff and afternoon staff should try to have better communication. I called many times, and had to re-explain an insurance issue over and over. However, they were all friendly and ended up resolving the insurance issue quickly.
Not a personal experience. She always messes up my prescriptions. Always makes you come back for follow-ups...not necessary.
Dr. Peters is a little bit of a weird doctor. She sits at her desk and didn't really examine me during my physical. Everything was left to the nurses, which is fine but it seems a little abnormal for a doctor to be so hands-off. She did go over my test results very thoroughly but did send me for a lot of unnecessary lab work. Overall, nice doctor and staff but I leave the office not really knowing if I'm healthy or not.
Handled a big medical scare VERY carelessly and unprofessionally, and it proved almost impossible to follow up with her without booking an appointment. Created a lot of needless anxiety during a hard time for me anyway.
Office staff very friendly and helpful. Dr Peters is efficient. This was my first clinical encounter with her so obviously my opinion is based on a limited amount of time spent in her office. I think I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a PCP.
Dr. Peters is always caring and is able to identify ways in which I can improve my health.
Why can't all my doctors be as sweet, smart and caring are her?!!
I've seen her a couple times. I'm not always confident in her opinions because she will shift them during the course of a visit occasionally without new information. In addition, she seems overly reliant on her laptop to look up medical information.
She approachable, compassionate, and professional. I love her and recommend her.
Good doctor, but bad front desk staff. They made me fill out paperwork even though I had already done it online because they assumed I hadn't done it and didnt care to check. Plus they sent the 5.30 appointment in to see the doc early at 5pm before me even though I had arrived on time for my appt. Ridiculous.
Friendly and professional. Efficient and responsive staff. Most complete exam I've has. Never had a hearing test or an eye test as part of an annual exam, for example, but this was routine.
The visit went very smoothly and I was pleased overall. The medical assistant helping me seemed to be a bit new to the practice, but was friendly and knowledgeable.
It seemed like I was in someone's apartment rather than a doctor's office. Too, the office was not open when I arrived and she was running late. It all felt very unprofessional.
Personable, approachable doctor. This was my first visit and I feel very much at ease.
Dr. Peters is so lovely; very kind and understanding. I would recommend her to everyone!
Great staff. ..very friendly and welcoming. Dr.Peters was great. Very efficient, informative, and overall great check up.
Dr. Peters is very nice but always seems like she's in a hurry to finish your appointment. Whenever I have come in with issues, I've had to schedule multiple follow-up tests just to find out that we still don't know what's wrong. Would recommend her just for standard, annual check-ups.
Very easy to talk to, personally follow up with a phone call after visit
Dr. Peters is great! She is very thorough in her evaluation, and clearly knowledgeable.
I would absolutely recommend Dr. Peters to other patients and have gone to the doctor time and time again since my first appointment!
She is always sweet, always makes an effort. 100% happy having her as my PCP.
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They constantly give you updates on your wait etc.
Dr Peters is very sweet and easy to talk to. She is a bit of a fast talker, but is happy to slow down or repeat something you may have missed. The staff is very helpful, although the office lay out lends itself to problems, so be "patient" if you will if they get confused or mixed up at times.
I would definitely recommend a friend. What a great staff. Very clean. Dr. Peters will be my new Primary Care doctor.
Like the doctor, she seemed knowledgeable and she's very fast. Once I was in to see her, I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I was EXTREMELY impressed with the efficiency of the blood drawing people upstairs, but sometimes the downstairs staff seemed inefficient, or maybe just not sufficiently trained in how to use some of the newer machines.
Extremely kind and professional staff. Dr. Peters was incredibly nice and gave attention and care to all of my questions. Very clean, quiet, and pleasant facilities.
She is the bomb
She's very nice and very thorough.
Dr. Peters is wonderful! She is so attentive and thorough with all her exams, from yearly physicals to other matters for which an answer might be harder to find. She makes sure all the appropriate tests and steps are taken. Also, she is usually able to see you fairly quickly. The office is a bit cramped, but I'm finding that's the case with most medical offices in Manhattan. Overall, highly recommended.
Great! Very comfortable talking to her and got exactly what I went in for!
Very kind & attentive and takes time to explain things. Had to ask her to repeat a couple things (she did talka little fast for for me to absorb it all), but had no problem repeating/reexplaining my diagnosis. Front desk and assistants are equally friendly and attentive. My only put-off the skin-care product commercials playing on loop in the waiting area.
Nice enough bedside manner, but she definitely looked at her laptop more than she did at me. I've since moved onto a new GP.
She's the best!
Dr. Peters is a great doctor when you have a sinus infection or you need your EPI-pen refilled, but I wouldn't recommend her for anything more serious. I've been going to her for the last 3 years for routine visits, but I've never been impressed with her office. When I needed vaccine boosters, they didn't carry one of them in house. I had to go get the vaccine from a pharmacy for her to administer them to me. It was annoying. I keep going to her because she's convenient to my apartment, but you could probably find a better doctor.
The staff was prompt, professional, efficient and welcoming. Very good appointment today.
Almost everything was done by her nurse, doctor paid little attention to me.
Came in for an annual physical and to establish a doctor. The office is very small and not the cleanest, could use some updating. My appointment was first thing in the morning but somehow the staff was not prepared for all my tests. They had to go back and forth getting equipment that they forgot. They sent me upstairs for blood work early because they were so busy, and then forgot about another test I was supposed to do. Dr. Peters was the highlight of the visit, she was very sweet, professional, and seemed knowledgeable. She was very thorough but also fast. Honestly, I was very surprised after the experience with the staff. They scheduled a 2wk follow up exam incase the blood work came back abnormal and said they would call me if we should cancel. I never got a call until the day before at 4PM when they close, so I had to go in for the appointment since it was first thing in the morning. When I went in they told me everything was normal and I didn't need to come. After the fact, I received a bill to find out my physical included tests not included in standard preventative care, tests that are unnecessary unless I have complaints. When I mentioned it they claimed it is standard, but if my plan covers 100% preventative care, then the tests they did aren't preventative. As a healthy person, just trying to establish a doctor incase I get sick, I'm really not happy with this clinic.
Made me feel very uncomfortable. Referred me to another doctor without investigating my symptoms or potential causes for my symptoms. Often felt like I was being accused of claiming false symptoms when I was not.
I went for a general consultation and the "dermatologist" didn't even examine my skin. Dr. Peters just said she would referred me to another doctor and never even sent me that information either. When I called back for the referred doctors info I was told I would be called back with that information and never heard back from anyone.
I have decided to switch to a different primary care general physician. I have found Dr. Peter's office to be consistently unprofessional. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first two times, but after going there three times and experiencing some amount of incompetence every single time (whether while doing the labs, or problems with billing, or not the best advice) I have had enough. While Dr. Peters is very friendly, I do not recommend her office. She has a lot to learn and her practice has a lot of growing to do in terms of professionalism.
The office rescheduled my appointment two times and were not organized.
A great doctor, willing to listen to my concerns and great staff, explaining why they did each test and procedure. Already recommended her to my friends.
Wish there was more flexibility on what Dr. Peters will do in visits. If you do not include everything you want to go over in your visit, she will not go over additional things, she will ask you to make another appointment.
I had a very positive experience with Dr Peters and her staff. The staff was friendly and professional and I did not wait long (even though I was late). I came in for an annual physical exam and the entire exam was very thorough. I did not feel rushed at all. Even getting blood work done was very simple and almost painless. Overall I was very pleased and felt that Dr Peters was very engaged and cares about her patients. I have definitely found a new primary care doctor.
Shirin Peters is like a ray of sunlight in the dark world of NYC primary care physicians. She's professional, interested in your care, and amazing. The staff is amazing too - helping out and making something as mundane as an annual physical a great experience!!
Dr. Shirin Peters and her staff were very nice, patient, and efficient. The process was very straightforward and hassle-free. I have already recommended her to a friend as a primary care doctor.
Unfortunately Dr Peters staff is completely incompetent. The front desk is ok except I've had some issues with them in receiving extra bills for my routine procedures. The PAs never seem to know what they're doing. I'm asked every visit (even if I was just there two weeks prior) if I still have my moles and allergies. Last time I checked those things don't change overnight. They're also never prepared for procedures and the rooms are incredibly small, cluttered and uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend this office because of the staff even though Dr Peters seems knowledgeable enough and is very kind.
I've finally found a competent, caring dr in nyc who is knowledgable as well as helpful. I have a new psychiatrist I am seeibf but cant get ab appt for a month. As a favor, she wrote all my psych meds for me (eveb the controlled one) for one month to hold me over till I see my new psych. Also very nice, takes time with you so your not rushed nor does the appointment drag on. Entire appt lasted a half hour walkinh in the door to the time I walked out. Friendly and efficient office workers. Overall a wobderful experience and have alreadyr referred my best friend.
Great visit with Dr. Peters. Was there a few times for different tests and follow-ups etc. Each time I was seen promptly with very little or no wait. Every member of her staff is highly attentative and polite. Dr. Peters is extremely thorough and I did not feel rushed at all. I would highly recommend her practice.
The appointment went well. They did a good job of sending me upstairs to do the blood work and then to the other room for the additional tests while waiting for Dr. Peters to arrive for my appointment. I didn't feel that I spent too much time in the waiting area. Dr. Peters was very nice.
My first visit with this doctor went well. Then i started noticing a pattern. Every time i went in, they found a reason for me to potentially speak to her or run one more test so that they could charge me the copay. even if i was supposed to just get blood drawn and then leave, they would make me wait (once for 45 mins) for her and then she would say nothing. the tests the ran, i never got the results for them, even when i would call and ask for it, they would say they would email it to me and i am still waiting. last time we set up an appt, they called and said she couldnt see me so we had to r/s and when i called to do just that, no one answered DURING office hours. and i called once after that and left a v/m and they have to returned my call to do this day.
Everybody who works in the office is very nice and efficient. I didn't have any wait time, and Dr. Peters was very happy to spend time answering all of my questions and providing honest answers.
Dr. Shirin Peters was informative, quick and nice. I'll continue to go to her for my primary care.
Dr. Peters was very friendly and resourceful. She answered all my questions. The exam was quick and not awkward at all. The staff was great, offered a lot of services. The office was very clean with a lot of reading material and products on display. I would highly recommend her and definitely come back!
Dr. Peters is so incredibly nice, as is the entire staff here. I made jokes & felt super comfortable asking questions about payment, what things were, etc. The overall appointment took a lot longer than I had anticipated, but the actual time I waited for someone to see me wasn't that long at all. After vetting through doctors on ZocDoc, I'm really glad I stumbled upon Dr. Peters.
Dr. Peters is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
Everyone was very accommodating. Just be sure that if you make your appt on Zoc Doc that you do it a few days in advance.
She's great! Knowledgeable, smart and kind.
I was very pleased with my annual physical. All the staff greeted me warmly and never once made me feel uncomfortable. I am new to NYC and wanted to find a doctor that made me feel comfortable, and I always found this difficult. After reading Dr. Peters' reviews I felt that she would be a good fit. I am more than pleased to have made this appointment with her.
Love my PCP.
Dr Peters and her staff were great. From check-in to the initial consultation, to speaking with Dr Peters herself, everyone was professional and thorough. Dr Peters took the time to answer any questions I had and also look through my blood work and ask comprehensive questions. I am now recommending her to everyone I know!
The whole staff was very professional! Dr Peters is a great and caring physician and I would recommend her to anyone.
Dr Shirin Peters is an exceptional doctor!
Everyone was very nice and I didn't have to wait very long at all, but the clinic needs to be renovated and professionalized.
She's very sweet, smart and a great listener. I feel very confident in her care. Very glad she's my pcp!
It was ok.
She was very kind and helpful answering my questions. I finally feel like I'm going to get to the bottom of my health issues!
She is a kind and considerate doctor who thoughtfully answers questions. Highly recommended!
Had to wait about 20-30 minutes before I saw Dr. Peters even though I filled out the paperwork online. Briefly saw her, as I was just getting meds for a cold, but she was easy to talk to and I'll see her in the future for a physical.
Felt like she wanted to administer any test to check out any minor symptoms I had. She was nice, no waiting time.
Best doctor!! She takes good care of patients.
Awesome as usual.
Dr. Peters is warm, friendly and very thorough with each visit. I'm happy with her as a general doctor, however, her staff has been sub-par on numerous occasions, which may lead me to look for another office. Examples include not being prepared with materials for a scheduled test and asking me during a blood test follow-up if I still have the allergies and moles I listed in my history three months prior. Those things don't go away, yes I still have moles. The receptionist has either been rude or hasn't been able to perform her job well. I've had to call back several times asking for the same thing. Frequently I also feel very claustrophobic in the cramped exam rooms with the two nurses that accompany me. Why do all three of us have to be in here? It's the size of a closet. I normally don't complain about these things, but the number of issues with this office has prompted me to let others know.
The doctor was great - very knowledgeable and friendly. The office staff however, seems a bit scattered and inefficient. I waited 45 minutes before I was seen and then it took another 1.5 hours before I was done with all the procedures and steps for my physical. Nice people but I think it could be better managed.
Dr. Peters was extremely detail-oriented, fast, and professional. I felt taken care of. Each step of the process was quick but not rushed. Her advice was sound and she took the time to answer general health questions I had. Two thumbs up.
Dr. Shirin Peters was great, but the office and the staff were not as good. I had to wait 25 minutes with no explanation, even though I arrived promptly and had filled out my forms beforehand. The staff were not as friendly and accommodating as they could have been.
Dr.Peters is really nice and seems knowledgeable. She takes the time to listen and doesn't rush through the appointment. My issue is with her office staff who messed up my appointments several times and then attempted to collect a cancellation fee that resulted from their mistake (they later removed it).
Very competent and thorough office. Could not recommend enough.
Dr. Peters is a very nice and professional care giver
Highly recommended. Very caring and professional PCP.
Thorough screenings and testing. Informative, knowledgeable and was personable. Very friendly staff.
Great office. Quick, efficient, and pleasant.
Very thorough and very kind. Appointments were fairly quick, although a physical can take a long time start to finish (1.5 hours for me).
Wonderful staff; I have a terrible fear of needles and always get light-headed upon having blood work done and the nurses made sure to make conversation to distract me. Wait time was minimal and office is very clean and modern. If you are looking for a new doctor, Dr. Peters is a great fit!
Dr. Peters is great--quick, thorough and very nice :-).
I saw Dr. Peters for my annual physical. Her staff was friendly and very good at explaining all of the procedures they did (vitals, tests, etc). It was a very thorough physical and Dr. Peters took time to talk through everything and answer all of my questions.
Shirin was very nice and I felt comfortable in her office. The office did thorough tests for my annual physical, and I received detailed lab results back from my blood tests. I'd definitely recommend Shirin!
I'm so happy to have found such a wonderful Dr with such an amazing staff. i highly recommend Dr. Peters to everyone out there looking for a new physician. her office is small but clean, and the doctor was more than thorough and accomodating. 10 out of 10.
Very professional, doesn't rush through appointments. When I've called off hours, she will occasionally get back to me that night. She also went to great lengths to work with the pharmacist after an issue with my prescription.
I waited for almost no time, and the appointment was efficient. She was very kind and not judgmental at all. Definitely recommend.
She's wonderful. It was all wonderful. Best doctor ever.
She is very professional and easy to open up to, she explains every procedure step by step. I would definitely refer other people to her.
I went for a physical. Thank you ZocDoc for making the paperwork seamless upon arrival. After I signed off on my paperwork I waited about a minute before being taken in to get my vitals taken by an assistant. Then another assistant took my blood. They were both kind, friendly, and made me feel very comfortable. I HATE getting blood taken and I kid you not my experience here was.. dare I say.. enjoyable! After that Dr. Peters was ready for me. We spoke about my history, she checked out a few things, went over my next steps, and scheduled a followup appointment. She's a sweetheart. I'm very happy with this office!
Dr. Peters is courteous and pleasant but the operation overall feels unprofessional and a bit like they are looking for opportunities to make money with extra tests. Tests like breathing capacity or measuring how many calories you burn while at rest seem like they'd be something good to know, but not necessary. Not to mention the allergy test that feels antiquated and purposeless (unless this is something you are specifically coming in for) and is something that the office pushes on you. The overall experience wasn't horrible but having to write your own name on your urine sample seems a little iffy and there doesn't seem to be any communication about what the tests do or why. Additionally I was asked to return to the office to discuss my blood work. When I did, there didn't seem to be a reason for me to be there. Dr. Peters didn't seem to know why I was there and some of my concerns were dismissed. On a positive note, one of her assistants who took my blood and performed most of the tests was very nice and when she took my blood she was a true pro. I probably won't be returning though.
Super informative and took time to discuss matters. I didn't feel rushed at all.
Dr. Peters is a wonderful listener, and has a huge breath of knowledge. She explains everything and is very patient. When I'm sick, I'm the most horrible person to be around, and she's reassuring and helps me get better fast. Also, she answers her email on the weekends if things go badly, or you need follow up questions. I'm happy that she's my primary doctor.
Very thorough and modern. Body composition test is an extra cost but pretty useful.
I love Dr. Peters. She was patient and kind. Also, Dr. Peters explained each procedure thorough.
Extremely warm and attentive.
Dr. Peters are her staff are an absolute delight! It's not always enjoyable having to go to the doctor, but Dr. Peters and her staff made sure I was comfortable, cared for and kept well informed.
I wish that I could give Dr. Peters 5 stars, personally she was very nice and seemed to care about her patients. However, I have had so many issues with my insurance because of my visit to her practice. If you have Empire BCBS do NOT visit her office. Though they claim they are an in-network doctor, there is a discrepancy between them and the insurance company where it turns out, they are NOT in-network. Save yourself the headache and the potential bills..
She was very professional but also very easy to talk to. She advised me take my flue shot and explained everything in simple language. Highly recommended.
Dr. Peters definitely could not have cared less. Wasn't a fan.
I'd like to start off by saying that I think Dr. Peters is great... in person. She is very kind, professional, and easy to talk to. That being said I do have a pretty substantial issue with her practice. I have tried to contact her several times regarding a medication that she prescribed to me--which I have been taking for a month now--that does not seem to be having any affect. If anything the problem has gotten worse. The first time I called I was told that I would get a call back later that day. I did not receive a call for the next couple days so I called in again. When I called, whoever it was that I was speaking to said that "there was no higher dose" of the current medication I could take to treat my issue... this is not the solution based response I was looking for--in fact no solution was presented to me at all. When I pointed this out, and stated that I would really like a positive answer the woman said that Dr. Peters wasn't in the office that day, so I would have to wait until she got back the following week. I waited several days and didn't receive a call back, so I called in again only to find out that Dr. Peters still had not received my message so I would have to wait for another call back in the next 30 minutes or so. I didn't receive a call for the rest of that day, or any of the following days. I gave it three tries and that's about as far as I'm willing to go. It's become clear that no one in the office really cares to pick up the phone and return patients' phone calls. I can't remain under the care of Dr. Peters. I need doctor who cares enough about their patients that they will make sure that their phone calls are returned promptly, and will do everything they can to make sure that their patient is receiving the right care--no matter what the problem is.
Dr. Peters was very helpful, answered all of my questions and was very patient. Her staff was lovely and the appointment was definitely quick and painless. Always refreshing to get in and out in the city. Glad I chose her office.
I was very pleased with the personalities of her staff and of their care to detail. They took time to answer my questions and went out of their way to make sure I was all taken care of. Dr. Peters was very polite and made me feel very comfortable and not rushed.
Fantastic doctor. So glad we found her.
I really like Dr. Peters. She's super cute, very low key, she seems like a normal, relatable human. She's very easy to talk to. She always takes the time to talk to you about everything, unlike a lot of doctors I've seen who seem to talk at you and then hustle you out the door. She asks questions about how healthy you feel in general, as though she really wants to make sure there's nothing bothering you at all. She seems to genuinely want people to feel good. She's the first doctor I've had who I actually care about keeping if I ever have to change insurance in the future.
I loved her. She took her time to listen to my concerns.
Most thorough yearly physical I have ever had.
Dr. Peters is thorough & meticulous. What makes her special, though, is that she takes as much time as needed to make sure she has all the info she needs & all your concerns are addressed.
I had a very good experience with Dr. Peters, though I wish she had spent more time with my individual consultation, seeing as it was my first annual physical with her. Her office staff is wonderful, and appointments are easy to schedule.
Very good visit
Very thorough. EKG, resting calorie burn, and breathing tests all nice touches.
She was very polite and sympathetic to my health concerns
Dr. Peters and her staff are very gentle and welcoming. The office is modern, clean, and equipped with all of the latest medical technologies. She is a patient, knowledgeable, and caring doctor with a calm demeanor which most doctors in New York lack! Her office is a fully functioning wellness center of sorts and their resources are profound. I would highly recommend Dr. Peters to anyone who is looking for a kind, intelligent, and helpful doctor.
Dr. Peters meets with you first and after the exam, weight, blood pressure and the blood tests are taken. I appreciated that. She explains things and is very patient. I am extremely pleased.
She was super. I highly recommend.
She was very thorough. I liked her a lot and she had a good bedside manner. I look forward to having her as my doctor for years to come. Everything was done in the office. It was easy to get an appointment and the location is very convenient and clean.
She seems very caring and intelligent, seems to be a great doctor so far.
Was my first - she was as recommended, very professional. Will be going bacl!!
Dr. Peters is great. She's very professional and thorough. I went in for an annual physical where she asked me detailed questions about my lifestyle and general health and ordered tests accordingly. I felt very comfortable with her and was glad at how thorough she is. HOWEVER. Her staff, although very nice, are not the most competent. She ordered a series of blood tests for me. Her nurses had to poke me four times and only got half of the blood they needed. I am no stranger to getting blood drawn. I have NEVER had to be poked more than once. The nurses eventually called Dr. Peters over to finish drawing the blood, which she did quite effortlessly. It alarmed me a bit that as she was drawing my blood, she was teaching her nurses how to do it. Which made it seem like they have not had extensive experience performing such tasks in the past. By the end of the appointment, my arms were covered in bruises and in pain. Aside from that experiences, there was a series of scheduling errors made by her staff, and now at one month after my tests, I still have not been able to meet with her to go over the results. My most recent appointment was cancelled 45 min prior to the scheduled time because of a scheduling error made by her staff. So in summary, I love Dr. Peters and I think she's a great doctor. With that said, her staff does not seem to carry her level of experience. They are all very nice people and fun to talk to, but I'm not sure I would be comfortable having them draw my blood (or even book my appointments) in the future.
Dr. Peters was incredibly nice and helpful. She answered all my questions and asked all the right questions. She has great attention to detail and I have already booked a follow up appointment. I look forward to appointments with her!
I really appreciate that she took the time to listen to my concerns and didn't out right diregard what I said. She gave really good realistic options, I'm looking forward to my follow up in a week.
Professional and effective.
She is an amazing doctor.
Highly professional in approach, easy access and very pleasant to work with
Great doctor, love the new office, flexible and responsive and kind.
Dr. Peters was fantastic! She was very thorough and extremely nice. I would definitely recommend her!
Dr. Peters and her staff were friendly, prompt, and knowledgable.
Cannot recommend Dr. Peters and her staff enough. Solid group of folks. Extremely thorough, understanding and detail oriented. The best!
Dr. Peters and the rest of her staff were extremely nice, easy to talk to, and attentive. It was easy to get an appointment and was seen right away when I arrived. I am glad to have finally found a good PCP.
Very professional and thorough. Very welcoming and quick.
Her and her staff were extremely professional and I am very glad to have found her.
Dr. Peters and all her staff were warm, welcoming, and lightning quick to get things done! Very happy I found her!!!
She's young but very sweet and professional. Her nursing staff was extremely nice as well. Would recommend.
Her nurse staff was amazing! I have been unable to give blood for around 5 years. Other nurses have poked me millions of times, and even given me a collapsed vein but Dr. Peters' team assessed my situation and found my veins and got the blood needed in one pass! Absolutely amazing! Nancy did my bloodwork so efficiently and smoothly that I barely felt a thing! Very happy about this experience!
Made me feel very comfortable. Nurses were very helpful and polite too. Would highly recommend.
She was so sweet and thorough. The staff was great. I will definitely become a regular patient, it was a great experience.
This was my second visit with Dr. Peters and I find her and her practice to be very professional and accommodating. Both visits she has been extremely thorough with her examination and also very kind. I originally chose her on ZocDoc because she was the only doctor with an education from schools I recognized. I fee really lucky to have randomly stumbled into such a great doctor.
She's very friendly and she listens. I've only had one appointment with her to date but so far, so good.
Efficient as usual
Dr. Peters is a great doctor. She is calm and reassuring and explains everything. She never seems rushed to get you out of her office and her staff all take time to talk to you. Overall, visiting her is a great experience.
Dr. Peters is super nice and so was everyone else! I will come back here.
You forgot to update her address and I wound up going to the wrong place. I didn't know that she'd moved till I got to the old address.
She gave me an EKG right in her office on my first visit because I am a diabetic and she thought she heard something. She testing my breath to see how many calories that I burn at rest. I have never even heard of that. There was no wait at all, and the office was modern and well decorated. Shirin Peters was a compassionate, attentive and genuine person. Her only interest was in my comfort and my health. It was great! Best ever!
I liked Dr. Peters a lot. She was thorough and understanding. Did not rush through the appointment, but listened and addressed all issues. I will definitely go back.
Peters is great, however, Zoc Doc appointment booking is a bit off. She changed offices 2 months ago and the new address is not reflected. Also, I booked an appointment online that apparently didn't exist at the office.
She is thorough. She listens and immediately recommended course of action about my issues. I felt treated respectfully and efficiently, By her, as well as the staff. It's a new office. So, they are settling down. It was a great experience.
This is the best doctor experience I had so far. There was no waiting time when I arrived. The staffs were very friendly and the office was very clean. Dr. Peters was very helpful and addressed my sickness quickly. I will go to her again.
She was extremely nice, professional, and sincerely concerned about my condition. Probably the best doctor Ive ever been to.
Shirin Peters is amazing!
Really good service.....something that is sadly rare these days. Thank you Dr. Peters.
Dr. Peters herself is pretty nice, but she spent about 2 seconds with me before passing me off to nurses, who them performed the necessary testing. My blood work test results didn't come back for a week and a half, and I didn't even get them until I came in for a follow-up visit. That visit was the same, 2 seconds with the doctor and more blood work. The nurse missed my veins on both arms and had to call in the doctor to do it. A week later, all I get is a short voice mail saying my tests were negative. No explanation - no thoughts on what it might have been (now that we only know what is wasn't...) - no question as to whether I want to speak to the doctor or come for a follow up. There is just no customer service here whatsoever. The doctor may know what she's doing but I have no confidence of that based on my experience. I'm getting a second opinion elsewhere...
Dr. Peters is great! She takes the time to thoroughly talk to you and her staff is very friendly. You can tell she truly cares about her patients. Highly reccommend!
Excellent! Dr. Peter's really cares about her patients! She found so many abnormalities with me that other doctors never cared to bring to my attention.
Great staff. Dr. Peters is very sweet and very thorough.
My visit was very detailed, relaxing and clam.
She is very personable. Genuinely concerned about my issue and thorough in her procedure.
I had a great first visit with Dr. Peters. I found her on Zoc Doc due to her outstanding ratings and know I know why. She is fantastic! Wait time was very minimal and she was very great at listening to my concerns. Office staff is very friendly as well, I highly recommend!
Dr. Peters has excellent Bedside manner -- she patiently listened as I explained my relevant medical history without jumping to any conclusions/making any assumptions until we had talked out the particulars. I came in over a particular illness but hope to make her my standard GP.
Love this doctor. Super attentive. Non-rushed. Actually answers emails. First doctor in New York who I have returned to a second year in a row after an annual physical.
I was very pleased with my treatment at the office. The doctor is kind patient and talks to you not a file. The staff is kind efficient and fast. Five stars
I greatly admire her. And I love Zoc Doc. What a wonderful resource for anyone looking for a medical professional. Thanks guys for creating this online resource. Dr. Betty A; Dodson
I think she is very professional and patient friendly. I would recommend her to everyone. I liked my visit with her.
Execellent doctor, actually listened to the issues i was having instead of just throwing out a vague diagnosis. very pleasent and the office is cool and trendy.
She was calm, professional and pleasant.
Dr. Shirin was very friendly and thorough. She recommended some tests since I hadn't had a physical in ages, but wasn't pushy about anything. I did not have to wait long for my appointment and she didn't double book patients the way some physicians do. She'll be my primary physician from now on.
Very thorough and I didn't feel rushed
They just moved to the office, so they don't yet have clear signs outside about which door is the entrance our how to gain entry. It's the door to the right if the law office and you have to press the last button on the call box.
even if i didn't have a legit crush on Dr. Shi P, i'd still say that she's an amazing doctor. she's wayyyy knowledgable and chill and you can be pretty straight up with her.
She was wonderful - really took the time to address all of my concerns. I felt comfortable and taken care of
I just moved from California and have been avoiding going through the process of trying out doctors to find one I like, but I really lucked out with Dr. Peters. I chose her somewhat randomly because she accepted my insurance and was conveniently located, but I was so pleased my experience! She is very easy to talk to, everyone in the office is very warm and friendly, and she's taken great care of me so far (I've now had several appointments with her)! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new doctor! She's great!
I got an annual physical from Dr. Peters, who I had never seen before this visit. She was great! Everyone in the office was super friendly and knowledgeable, and Dr. Peters took her time with me, answered all of my questions and provided very helpful information and options. I'd definitely recommend her.
Great Doctor. Very nice.
It was great all around! She takes the time to see you as a person, not just your symptoms.
They are at 31st and 3rd now. It was their first day in that office and even though they weren't fully set up they did a great job taking care of me quickly. Very friendly staff and Shirin was helpful. Happy that they are my pcp. Will be going back.
Everyone in the office was very friendly and made me feel at ease, plus I was seen right away. Dr. Peters was great! Would definitely recommend.
She was great! Very gentle and thoughtful, and she and her staff were very professional, even though they're in the middle of an office move. Dr. Peters will definitely be my doctor from now on!
It was great! I didn't have to wait 3 hours like I've had to at other places. The assistants were lovely and pleasant. Dr. Peters was very caring and I felt so comfortable! I will continue to go back to her =)
Dr. Peters and her staff are very warm and friendly, easy-going and professional.
Friendly team, intimate office. Caught them in the middle of moving so things a bit disorganized but will return.
Amazing doctor, and so professional! Definitely a great experience.
Dr. Peters was pleasant and professional. I felt in good hands after my visit. Her staff could have done a slightly better job describing the tests I was taking. The blood drawing would have been improved with an armrest and piece of tape. I intend to use Dr. Peters as my PCP.
Dr Peters and her team were exceptional
Dr. Peters is very kind and compassionate. She took the time to answer any questions and referred me to another specialist for carpal tunnel syndrome. Her staff was able to assist me with allergy testing. Highly recommend her!
I had a problem with my ID and payment and the attendants helped right away and made a not so great situation completely painless! I have to say that the office is a bit cramped, but from signs it seems that they are undergoing renovation.
Dr. Peters is very nice. I felt very comfortable with her, and I trusted her immediately. It didn't take me long to make her my primary care doctor.
Dr. Shirin Peters was excellent. She made me feel comfortable and gave me interesting advice and information concerning my health. I look forward to my follow up appointment with her. Her staff are friendly and accommodating.
Very efficient and thorough. Her staff was the friendliest I have ever experienced.
Awesome! She's clearly highly-skilled and her staff is very welcoming. Great experience!
It was overall very good. There was some ambiguity about follow-up after the fact (some lab results took longer than anticipated), that ambiguity could have been communicated better. Other than that very good.
Dr. Peters is a great doctor; excellent demeanor, professional, knowledgeable and understanding. All of my appointments have been very thorough. I am so happy with the decision to use her as my primary care doctor.
Very thorough, courteous, efficient service, Highly recommended!
Thorough and no wait.
She is very professional and was very detailed in my needs. The visit was very thorough. Highly recommend!
The nurse staff was fantastic - I just switched healthcare providers so I don't have my card yet. I came in as a new patient same day as making the appointment and they sorted the whole thing out. The office was a bit small and crammed, but definitely helpful in a pinch.
Attencious and good.
I got a great review from my co-worker. She is really great !
Very lovely, friendly staff. Dr. Peters is kind and truly listens to the patient.
Amazing....just like Baby and Johnny in Dirty Dancing.... I had the Time of my Life!!
While my visit was very positive, she listened as I described my symptoms, she seemed genuinely concerned, she made eye contact which is always nice (some doctors don't always do that) I did feel however a little rushed out at the end of my appointment, I had more questions but she had left the office- i'll just ask them at my follow up. The two nurses were very sweet and clarified things with me right away
She's great! She was backed up today, but I've been there before and that is very rare. Very kind, attentive, asked questions and seemed engaged.
Dr. Peters was very patient and asked if she addressed all my concerns. I felt like I wasn't rushed and was seen right away
Dr. Peters is very calm and listens carefully to what you say, I would recommend her 100%!
I really enjoyed my visit.. All my questions were answered and she sat and listened. It was a great first visit overall
My visit was def not what I expected with all the great reviews I read before my visit. It was in a decent area and I didnt feel seedy going up the elevator to the office but once I entered I immediatley felt like I had made a mistake in going there. I dont know which would have been worse now. Going here or to a Duane Reade. The receptionist was not warming upon my arrival. The diagnostic assistant brought me into a room which was only given privacy by a sheet like curtain hanging on a rope. Everything in the office was cluttered. Then when the Dr told me to say 'ahhh' to check my throat she used a lamp to look into my mouth! LOL Thankfully she is not my primary Dr. Good luck to her...
Great office and staffed by very nice people. Dr. Peters was great, went in immediately and she has a great bedside manner. Very helpful and thorough and didn't feel rushed. I've been looking for a primary care doctor for a long time in NYC and I finally found a great one in Dr. Peters.
this was easily the best doctor's visit i've had since moving to new york, and the first doctor since i was like....14?...that i would want to make a "regular" primary care physician. she's young and chill and really knowledgeable. can't rate highly enough.
Lovely woman, nice and helpful staff.
Great experience--did not have to wait at all and office staff, as well as Dr. Peters, were very nice and accommodating.
Dr Peters was great. She listened to all of my symptoms carefully and thoughtfully, and then was able to explain to me very clearly what she thought was going on. She gave me great information about what to expect going forward with the prescription, and also helped me think about when to come back for a physical.
Great! Was seen as soon as I arrived even though my appointment was not for another 20 minutes. Receptionist was incredibly friendly and the doctor was prompt, informed me about everything that was going, and was also very nice.
Dr. Peters never even asked me about my migraines despite that being the reason for my booking the appointment. She did a physical and by the time the results came back she seemed to have forgotten the fact that I had migraines at all.
Dr. Peters was very nice & answered all of my questions. Her staff is very nice as well.
A true gem.
It was great, she's a great doctor who takes the time to ensure her patients are well informed and on the correct path to healthy living.
Great Dr. visit. My first time here for my annual physical etc. I was seen right away. Her assistant was very friendly, accommodated me coming in early, and Dr. Peters was very nice, made me feel comfortable, and very informative, thoroughly explaining everything. I would highly recommend her.
Dr. Shirin Peters, MD is very amicable and answered all my questions thoroughly. The visit was very quick and I was able to get a prescription in less than 30 min. I will definitely schedule an appointment again!
Very nice doctor!
I loved seeing Dr. Peters. She was so attentive and thorough. She's licensed in several areas so she was able to answer more than my Gyno questions.
Dr. Peters is very professional, patient, thorough and informative. I am very particular about my doctors, and I like a doctor that makes me feel as though they have all the time in the world for me, and that's what Dr. Peters did. She and her staff are very approachable, and I have made her my primary doctor. I also took a few extra business cards for friends. The only downside is the that the office is quite small, but the service makes up for the size. I would rather an office be big in service and small in size, than the other way around.
Dr. Peters is very kind. She takes her time to address all of your concerns and she always makes sure to shake your hand at the end of your appointment. She makes "going to the doctor" as pleasant of an experience as possible.
I booked my first appointment with Dr.Peters because I was ill and she had weekend hours available. She was thorough and personable. I will continue to see her as my primary care doctor.
Dr. Peters was very professional and listened to my issue before giving back great feedback and suggestions. Definitely will be making her my primary care provider!
Loved her! She was thorough and personable. Will definitely go to her again next time I'm in need of medical attention. :)
She was very nice, not as warm as I would expect from the reviews. She never rushed and let me explain all my symptoms. She doesn't really talk a lot, she lets you do most of the talking. Her assistant was very professional and friendly. I would go back again.
Very punctual and kind. Allows time for questions and is very knowledgeable.
Great experience. Super friendly staff and Dr. Peters was so nice! Took extra time to make me feel comfortable. No wait time at all.
My visit was fast and friendly. I would have appreciated a reminder that I was supposed to fast for 6 hours before showing up (didn't know about that). I also never received the results of my blood work, which is a little frustrating as the office called and mentioned that there may be a few problems. I sent an email to Dr. Peters a week ago asking for the results but never got a response. I will try again today.
I am very pleased with her service.
It was a friendly, valuable and pleasant experience.
Young, energetic, very friendly and willing to help. Highly recommend!
She was really proffesional and friendly.
Kind and very competent - focuses on derm
Friendly, kind and knowledgeable! Happy to have her as my PCP!
She was very friendly and thorough!
Dr. Peters was very thorough in her examination and answered all of my questions with patience and consideration. I was very comfortable with her and felt that I could be open and honest with my affliction. I'd gladly go back to her if need be!
She listened carefully and understood my issues.
Dr Peters is very kind and competent. She visit you with great attention and is open to answer all the questions you may have. I definitely recommend her.
The nurse/receptionist was very sweet, but the office is tiny and unkempt. The appointment was very quick, but felt like I was being seen in someone's dorm room.
New to the city and was clueless as to how to find a doctor. Came across Dr. Peters on ZocDoc and took the chance. She was great. I'll be returning. Her office hours are incredibly convenient.
Dr. Peters and her staff were excellent; everyone was friendly, professional, and prompt. Their welcoming demeanor upon my arrival set a great tone, and even though I was early they started my appointment right away and took time to explain each procedure to me. During my visit Dr. Peters was a great listener and offered knowledgable advice and recommendations regarding my issues. She also made me feel completely at ease, not an easy feat as I'm usually very nervous in medical environments. I will definitely be using her as my primary care physician and couldn't recommend her more.
Lovely, knowledgeable, and personable doctor.
i have a pretty minor issue, but dr. peters took the time to answer all my questions and addressed my concerns
She was great! Very helpful and professional.
Really easy. Keeps very flexible hours and generally is a breeze. Puts you at ease and makes you feel completely comfortable.
small office, unprofessional atmosphere, receptionist/nurse to busy checking her e-mails than tending to her patients and instead of adding info into computer directly she wrote it down first.
Very professional, no hassle, and straight forward.
Dr. Peters is very approachable and friendly. I felt like she listened to me and was thorough and didn't rush me. I will definitely be going back to her again in the future. Highly recommended.
As a first-time patient, I wasn't sure what to expect. I did have to wait about 15 minutes to see her, but Dr. Peters was so wonderful and professional. She explained every single step throughout my annual check-up (what machines she was using for what, the why behind what she was testing, etc.) She was really thorough and put me at ease. I'd definitely recommend her!
She is very thorough and helpful. She made the visit very pleasant :)
She is incredibly easy to talk to and I would recommend her to any of my friends. This was my first doctor's visit since moving to NYC and I think I've found my physician. She's knowledgeable and friendly.
Dr. Peters is very professional and attentive - happy to help, positive attitude, and cheerful demeanor.
I really liked Dr. Peters. She was very 'present' -- explained everything, and I did not feel rushed. Her office clearly did a good job juggling a few patients coming and going. A great experience. The office space itself is a bit unconventional – but ambiance is never at the top of my list, so i did not mind.
I have never in my life had such a fantastic overall experience at a Doctors office. My visit was seamless, organized and everyone is extremely pleasant and helpful. Dr. Shirin Peters is engaging, kind and gentle. She pays close attention to what you have to say and will easily put you at ease. The staff is just as friendly and caring. If you are looking for a good Doctor, your search should end here!!
This is the way a patient should be treated! Modern approach and on top of her game - yet takes the time.
Probably one of the nicest doctors that I've come across and the exam was very thorough and complete. Happy to have her as my primary physician.
personalzied attention, did not feel rushed, took her time
She was great! Small office but everyone was attentive and was seen within 15 minutes.
She's great and her staff is great. I never have to wait, even if I'm early for an appointment; they are highly efficient, and I appreciate how well Dr. Peters listens to my concerns.
Went for a general checkup and was immediately taken care of for my 8am appointment. I was her first appointment for the day. Love the fact she does everything. She didnt have a nurse or secretary doing all the other minimal things. She was kind and caring. I felt like I was in her own home. I've never had an experience like that and I'm definitely coming back to her since booking an appointment through zocdoc was the easiest thing! Thank you!
Dr Peters is a lovely person. My overall experience was great: I was seen on time, I wasn't rushed, all of my questions were answered. An the location is central and convenient.
Dr. Peters is a lovely person; This was my first appt for a consult and she was considerate, a good listener, and provided me with contacts for other medical issues I am having. I will be going to her for my annual this fall.
I hate to judge based on a first time visit, because maybe Dr. Peters wasn't having the best of days, but I want a doctor who seems genuinely people oriented and doesn't make me feel like she's using her computer to diagnose me based off of Web MD. I felt like she spent more time looking at her computer than actually listening to or looking at me.
She is hesitant and seems unsure of herself... Doesn't exactly instill confidence.
She was friendly and warm and easy to talk to.
Dr. Peters was very kind and informative, highly recommend! The clinic is small but friendly, a much better experience than attending large clinics where there are waiting lines for anything.
She's very thorough and easily accessible. I've never had an issue getting an appointment.
Nice and professional
Dr. Peters was very helpful in explaining the medication she was prescribing and the next step I should take in helping clear up my skin. I have already checked out the website for the skincare product she suggested that I start using after I finish with the medication and I am very interested in seeing how this skincare product will work for my skin.
She listened, and understood exactly what I wanted. She was thoughtful and thorough, I scheduled my annual check up with her already! She is a wonderful PCP
She was very knowledgeable and helpful. She listened to all my questions and was able to give me good clear answers.
Very nice experience, seamless transition after she took over for my previous primary care physician. Will recommend.
She is extremely nice, listens and is very professional.
Really attentive at listening to patient and very thorough
Great doctor – empathetic and good at calming down a nervous patient.
I went for a check-up since I hadn't been to see a doctor in a while. I was looking to establish a relationship with a PCP for any future health concerns. Dr. Peters is lovely, but I didn't feel like the appointment was that thorough. The receptionist was sweet and I was taken in right away.
Wonderful doctor. Very nice, highly recommend.
She was excellent. Personable. Really great bedside manner.
My visit was fine, I didn't wait long at all, the staff was very friendly and down to earth, and the doctor was professional and friendly at the same time. I will most likely go back if I have any other issues.
Very nice and professional demeanor.
Dr. Peters was extremely friendly and helpful. She saw me right away and took care of everything I needed.
I would highly recommend her. She was professional, thoughtful and clinically outstanding. Her office assistant was nice and helpful as well.
THANKS TO ZOCDOC FOR INTRODUCING ME TO AN EXCEPTIONAL DOCTOR WHO REALLY LISTENS AND FOLLOWS UP REGARDING MEDICAL TESTS.
Really excellent doctor. Makes you feel comfortable and is not in a rush to get to the next patient. Makes sure to answer all questions and is easy to understand. Highly recommended.
She's young and inexperienced, and it shows in her bedside manner/ slight awkwardness. But she is very knowledgeable and caring, and accurately prescribed me antibiotics for my flu-like symptoms.
Very thorough and friendly. Will definitely return!
Dr. Peters was very prompt, personal, and knowledgeable! Will definitely return and highly reccommend!
Dr. Peters was very nice and very helpful. I was a bit of a mess and an anxious patient but she's very nice and made me feel very comfortable.
Dr. Peters is a wonderful doctor! She is so thorough in her work, and she's also very caring. I am so happy to have finally found a doctor who I trust and feel comfortable with. I highly recommend Dr. Shirim Peters.
LOVE. HER. She greeted me as soon as I walked in the door and she and the physician assistant were personable and listened carefully to everything I said. I will definitely be going back to her.
The minute I walked through the door I was seen! She asked so all he right questions to make sure she pin pointed what was wrong! She is very friendly and welcoming! Highly recommende !!!!
She was very personable and informative. Recommend!
Dr. Peters listened carefully to what I had to say. She did not rush me at all, and that was the best thing.
Dr. Peters was fantastic. Extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. She was very easy to talk to and offered great feedback and insight.
Dr Peters was very professional and a good listener who took time to consider all of my problems carefully. She was very understanding and pleasant to be around. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
Dr. Peters was amazing! I went in to see her after having a horrible emergency room/ follow-up appointment experience. She turned everything around for me. She listened. She was patient. I left her office feeling reassured. I'm going to make her my new PCP. I highly recommend Dr. Peters!
She was great, very attentive and listened to all my concerns. My only issue is that zocdoc labelled her as a dermatologist when I made my appointment and she is not.
Great experience. Dr. Peters is very patient, understanding, and gives a complete physical exam in a non rushed setting. Would recommend to anyone.
Wonderful doctor. My first visit after not seeing a general practitioner in years and I'm so glad to get started again with her. Very patient. Excellent listener. I highly recommend Dr. Peters.
She was thorough and extremely sweet. I appreciated that she spent time with me and I did not feel rushed at all. She let me know what services the office offered with out making me feel pressured. The office overall has a very relaxing zen feel. I absolutely recommend her!
She was patient listening to my symptoms. When there was a delay with putting in the order for the prescription, she followed up with courteousness.
She accommodated my crazy schedule/lateness and was able to take me right away. My visit was great and turned what could have been a very distressing solution into one where everything worked out. Thanks Shirin! I really appreciate it.
Very enjoyable visit. I felt reassure and Dr. Peters followed up via email to make sure my prescription and follow-ups were understood.
