Dr. Valbuena is the Founder, President and CEO of Valbuena Psychiatry and Valley Neurobehavioral Institute, PLLC. Dr. Valbuena is the director of many institutions in the Valley, including Valley Hospital where he continues to serve as an attending, Calvary Center Rehab, Sundance rehab and Decision Point. His sole interest now is his Wellness Center, where he wants to concentrate on outpatient care for recovering health professionals, professional athletes, opiate use disorders, psychiatric disorders of adults and children. Dr. Valbuena, through the years, has accumulated high profile clientele. His respect for privacy is of the utmost importance. He is still very active in the above hospitals but is invested in treating families in need in north Scottsdale.
Dr. Valbuena and his Wellness Center uses cutting edge treatment and a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. We treat all our clients with compassionate, sound, and thorough care.
Dr. Valbuena was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to Oklahoma where he was raised by his physician parents in the family tradition of serving others through the medical profession. He attended the University of Oklahoma in 1988, where he earned BS in Microbiology. He was and still is an active member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, Beta Kappa chapter and the University of Oklahoma.

Very condescending upon the first visit. Made me feel extremely profiled due to the medications that i have been perscribed since I've been 16 years old. Being a level headed successful businessman I understand that this doctor probably sees tons of people my age(24) trying to exploit him for drugs. He completely disregarded what I said and put me on new medication that did nothing for me. It gets even better. Even though I had a bad first wrap I thought I would give him a shot just to see why I was being profiled. When I brought it up he became extremely flustered and I quote "I don't think we are going to work out, your refund is waiting for you at the front" don't waste your time like I did.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!! Valbuena and his physician's assistant, Martin, are not on the same page when it comes to treatment. My daughter's first appt, Valbuena recommended Adderall. Martin said he was "concerned", and made it seem like I was a bad parent because my daughter needs a higher strength or alternative for her afternoon dose. I came seeking help for my daughter, not to be looked at as a bad parent for taking the MD's suggested medication.
If you need to speak with the Dr for any reason, don't even bother calling. They don't answer the phone 80% of the time, you need to keep calling or leave a message. And the gatekeeper, Elena, at the front desk is slower than molasses!
I'm taking my daughter elsewhere, where they show at least a little concern for her.

Went early to appointment to fill out paperwork,the office was very peaceful not hectic, which already made me feel at ease, receptionist was very nice, once finished with paperwork, the doctor took me at that moment, and listened to me and he was very understanding and helpful, when I was finished with appointment, I left feeling like I'm in good hands and I'm going to be ok!!!!

The visit was shorter than I had hoped, and though Dr. Valbuena stated he'd be available for questions, a call to his office the next day re: a prescription has remained unanswered for the past 4 days.
