Getting to know Rebecca Blakesley

Rebecca is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) providing telemedicine services for adults with ADHD, autism, OCD, PTSD, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and related mental health conditions. She takes a patient-centered approach that considers each person's full story—life circumstances, previous treatments, physical health, and personal goals. Treatment plans are developed collaboratively with clear explanations of all options and respect for patient preferences. Her nursing background enables a holistic perspective that connects mental health with sleep, physical wellbeing, relationships, and life stressors, treating the whole person rather than isolated symptoms. Services include medication management with thorough education about prescriptions and their expected outcomes, ensuring patients understand and remain active participants in their care. All appointments are conducted via secure telemedicine, allowing patients to receive quality psychiatric care from their preferred location without the stress of commuting or waiting rooms.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Please note: I do not accept EAP programs. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I approach medication management from a holistic, whole-person perspective. Although medications are my clinical specialty, I'm equally committed to understanding you fully and recognizing how your sleep, nutrition, stress, relationships, and lifestyle all shape your mental health. I treat a variety of conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, sleep disorders, and PTSD. Our first visit is genuinely comprehensive. We'll talk about your mental health symptoms as well as your physical health, daily routines, current stressors, support network, and the health goals that matter most to you. I deliberately make room for this conversation, because the better I understand your life, the more precise and effective your care can be. I prescribe with care, explaining why I'm suggesting a specific medication, how it works, the benefits and risks to consider, and what a realistic timeline for improvement looks like. I'm also candid about what medications can and can't accomplish, and I'll help you form expectations that are hopeful yet grounded in reality. Regular follow-up visits give us the chance to track your progress, fine-tune doses as needed, and catch any concerns early. Between appointments, I'm available for questions, because your well-being doesn't keep to a fixed schedule. I also coordinate with your other providers, such as your primary care provider and any relevant specialists, so you have a connected care team supporting you from every angle. My hope is that you'll feel heard, respected, and confident in the choices we make together. Quality care should feel like a collaboration, not a transaction. I see our relationship as a true partnership, one where your experiences and perspectives aren't just welcome but are essential to our shared success and to your journey toward lasting, meaningful wellness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Please note: I do not accept EAP programs. Seeking help for your mental health takes courage, and I consider it a privilege to be part of that journey. Our first meeting lasts about an hour, giving us time to talk without rushing and to begin building a real connection. I'll ask what's been going on, how long it's been troubling you, and what you've already tried. We'll then look closely at your symptoms, review your medical and psychiatric history, and talk about your daily routines, current stressors, and the people you can turn to for support. Through careful questions, and sometimes standardized screening tools, I work to understand your experience clearly. The goal isn't to put a label on you; it's to identify what will truly help you feel and function better. I'll share what I'm noticing in plain language so you understand each step of your care. Together, we'll decide whether medication belongs in your plan, taking the time to weigh your options. I'll explain how different medications work, what results are realistic, and address any concerns or questions you have. Because everyone responds differently, medication management is a process we shape and refine over time, with your feedback guiding each decision. Follow-up appointments typically last 20 to 30 minutes and are scheduled monthly or as often as your needs require. We'll track changes in your symptoms, talk honestly about whether your medication is working, monitor for side effects, and adjust the plan whenever the clinical picture calls for it. Open communication is central to our work. If a concern or question comes up between visits, please reach out, because I want to hear from you. My approach is simple: treat every person with dignity and respect, listen without judgment or assumptions, and provide evidence-based care tailored to your needs. Above all, I want you to feel like a true partner in your care, supported and understood at every step.

Rebecca is always so understanding and helpful. She asks insightful questions that lead her right to solutions I would never consider might be helpful for me. She is a capable and caring provider.
Rebecca is very compassionate. She listens to my concerns and offers thoughtful suggestions for medication management. She makes adjustments in a way that feels safe and manageable, and I feel truly supported by her.
Rebecca is very understanding and works with the patient to make a plan. She doesn’t push patients to make any decisions but rather educates them on different options and helps them stay on track. She is easy to get a hold of and very nice and calm.
I rarely do reviews but I could never say enough good things about Rebecca Blakesley. Her warm personality, friendly face and nonjudgmental demeanor have made me comfortable sharing struggles that I’ve spent my lifetime trying to fix (and conceal) myself. For the first time, I do not dread appointments and even feel safe being vulnerable with my shortcomings. Her level of empathy and compassion is unmatched and I thank my lucky stars every day that I got to cross paths with her beautiful soul. My only regret is that I did not find her sooner. I often wonder who or what I could have been if I had the help and clarity that she has provided me, earlier in life. If you are on the fence about seeking help, look no further. Your quality of life and future will thank you. :)
If only practitioners like Rebecca were around when I was growing up, I would have been correctly diagnosed and guided and spared much unnecessary suffering. She’s the real thing. Her expertise and devotion to linking you to the right care is unparalleled. Wow.
I've seen many psychiatrists over the years and I have to say Rebecca is the best of the bunch. I'd recommend her service and care in a second. Do yourself a favor and schedule with her. She's knowledgeable about recent medications and practices within the psychiatric domain which helps facilitate a care plan that's tailored to your specific issues. I've had psychiatrists that never really kept up with the literature and were more about seeing as many patients as possible. Rebecca is the complete opposite, she cares and wants you to be in the best possible position.
Rebecca is very empathetic and works hard to find a plan that works for your specific situation. She also above and beyond by recommending different resources that could also assist with treatment.

Rebbeca is lovely. She takes her time and doesn't rush to give a diagnosis. She asks curious questions to help discover what your underlying issues could be that are causing your current symptoms. I love that she doesn't just jump to prescribing medication and is open to exploring alternative solutions. That was a relief! I highly recommend working with her.

She offers her professional opinion given what she sees and hears but ultimately leaves the final decision for me to decide, which I appreciate immensely. I would highly recommend Dr. Blakesley!
