In 2006, Dr. Castro was recertified as a diplomate by the American Board of Family Practice. From 1986 through 1999, Dr. Castro was licensed as a physician and surgeon by the California Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Castro is also a certified Medical Acupuncturist, receiving her training at the University of California at Los Angeles.
Dr. Castro received her doctor of medicine degree (MD) from the UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California in June 1986. She received her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychobiology from the University of California Los Angeles, California; June 1982.
Following medical school, Dr. Castro was an Intern and Chief Resident at the Department of Family Practice, University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California from June 1986 – June 1989.

Dr. Castro is very thorough. Not in a hurry or rushed. She has called twice to check up on me. That's a welcome treat in today's world where people are a number and not a name. I highly recommend her.

She takes the time to listen to your concerns and doesn't make you feel like she is filling a 10 minute slot on her schedule. I have never felt I had to hurry & never had to wait for an appt., which is unheard of in a Dr's office.

Dr. Castro has always been very responsive to my needs. I never feel like I'm just a number... Her care is in-depth and she follows up with you. Prescriptions are filled in a timely manner, even though her practice is part-time.

The reception at Dr. Castro's office is always warm, welcoming & comfortable. I think Dr. Castro is a competent & professional physician. I never feel rushed, or that I'm just another patient processed through, as I have with doctors in the past. She always takes time to have a real conversation with me. We discuss various treatment options available & we make decisions together. I feel fortunate to have found such a wonderful doctor.
