He moved to San Antonio after college to attend medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Following medical school, he completed both his internship and orthopedic surgical residency at UTHSC@San Antonio. He served as a faculty member there from 1981 to 2002. In 2002, Dr. McGanity opened up his private practice in northeast San Antonio.

Dr. McGanity has a very sweet and endearing nature. He's gentle and seems to really care and listen to his patients. He also treated my mother and I was greatly impressed by his caring nature and assurance in trusting her care to him. He's also got quite a gift for stitching. :-) His staff is also wonderful, polite, and extremely helpful.

I liked him! He knew pretty much right away what was wrong with my wrist. He was ready to see me right at my appointment time; there was only waiting time because I got there early to take care of any other new patient info they needed.

Great Dr. Very caring and helpful. Wait time was quite a while b/c I was a new pt. His office lady, "Jan" is awesome. She came dwn to the Stric Xray place and wanted to know what the holdup was about me getting my MRI and she got the ball rolling fast. They were going to schedule me over an hr later, but when she got on them they moved me up fast. Very satisfied with this dr and his office staff.

Dr. McGanity was very professional and nice. I drove 2.5 hours from home to see him and i would/will gladly do the drive again. He is very knowledgeable and honest. The staff is also super friendly and helpful. It is nice to walk into an office where the ladies at the front desk are pleasant...makes the visit that much better. Keep up the great work. I highly recommend Dr. McGanity!
