Over the past three years, I have had the great pleasure to work with Dr. Priyanka. Before I was in therapy, I felt scared to be in my own body. My panic attacks were frequent, unpredictable, and unmanageable. Now, I am in tune with my triggers and have coping mechanisms to get through the panic. Even better, I have significantly less anxiety and have been experiencing my life and relationships more deeply and fully. I truly believe that our therapeutic relationship has given me the confidence to do things that used to terrify me. Dr. Priyanka has helped me in my career goals, relationships at home and at work, and personal aspirations. Her professionalism, depth of knowledge of her work, and patience leads me to believe she's one of the best! It is very clear she truly cares about her clients and their success.
I am a patient with Anxiety, PTSD and Depression issues. Dr. Upahdyaya has helped me develop tools that allow me to deal with triggers that used to overwhelm me. We have utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have gained amazing insights into my behavior in a short period of time. Dr U has taught me to use a variety of Mindfulness Techniques. During our sessions, she is able to listen, keep me focused on understanding a particular issue and leaves me with valuable questions, assignments and goals. i have had great improvements in dealing with personal relationships and my ability to take control of my life in general. She is not my first Therapist, but I happily feel she will be the very last

It was a wonderful experience

I was a patient of Priya when she provided services at Bellevue Hospital in NYC to WTC victims. For many bizarre reasons I came very late to the program after a delayed cancer diagnosis. It had became very apparent I needed a lot of support to resolve my trauma issues and put my PTSD and WTC attributed cancer into context. There was a lot of painful baggage that accumulated over 17 years; I felt abandoned and lonely, edveloping a numbness to emotion as a survival tactic. Without Priya's individual therapy and patient, attentive care to my case, I would not have made progress toward restoring honest, open, healthy family and social relationships. She avoided psycho babble and gently got to the point in a very skilled way. Professionally she offered both excellent customer service with good coordination on appointment logistics and, most importantly, an effective clinical outcome consistent with her good clinical care.
Dr Priyanks is warm, kind, extremely articulate, and brilliant. Having been gaslighted by a narcissistic ex, I still had symptoms of long-term PTSD. I went to see Dr Priyanka because after many years I had fallen in love with a good man but I lacked confidence that I could trust my own perceptions when it came to any conflicts that would inevitably arise. I didn't want my fight or flight response to jeopardize this new and loving relationship. I needed ongoing advice from someone well versed in counselling PTSD survivors how to handle conflict in healthy relationships, and I hit the jackpot with Dr Priyanka, who provided first-rate clinical care and guidance.
PTSD drove me deep into a depression so powerful that I lost control of my everyday life - as well as sight of who I was before. “Dr. Priyanka’s” caring and mindful treatment led me back to a productive, creative and healthful life. I was in treatment with Dr. Upadhaya for nearly six years - every session brought me clarity and self awareness. I reflect on our these sessions on good days and bad.
