“I was able to get in for an appointment quickly, and that was a good thing because of the discomfort I was suffering. The physicians assistant was very knowledgeable and ask very good questions about what happened.
I was a respiratory therapist many years ago and so I do know some about medical matters. Her explanations were right on the money. I have found that a good physicians assistant is probably better than some doctors. I am very glad that I found you folks.”

About Rachel Wood
Rachel Wood is a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant with a strong focus on patient care. She is thrilled to join the team at Lux Dermatology in Stockton and Manteca, where she can apply her extensive knowledge and experience in dermatology and outpatient medicine.
Rachel completed her Master of Physician Assistant Practice at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, from August 2020 to May 2023. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from California State University, Fullerton, graduating Magna Cum Laude in May 2019.
Throughout her medical and clinical experience, Rachel honed her skills in various specialties. Rachel provided comprehensive patient care by managing and optimizing patients' overall health by addressing and managing their comorbidities.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Rachel has shown leadership and advocacy through her involvement in the Physician Assistant Education Association's Student Advocacy Trip to Washington DC.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Rachel has actively volunteered with Flying Samaritans, providing essential medical care to underserved areas in Mexico. Her commitment to serving those in need highlights her compassionate nature and dedication to improving the lives of others.
