Dr. Shah's practice is located in Melrose Park and Elmhurst. Dr. Shah earned her M.D. at Case Western Reserve University's School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio while also earning a Masters Degree in Bioethics. She trained in Internal Medicine at Evanston Northwestern Hospital and then completed her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Northwestern University in Chicago. Her Fellowship training included exposure to a wide spectrum of allergy, sinus and asthma issues along with cultivating an interest in environmental allergens. She enjoys teaching and is an Affiliate Faculty member at Loyola School of Medicine.
Her passion for Allergy and Immunology developed when she saw the impact of allergies on her own sister's quality of life. She became interested in learning about the science behind why allergies occur conducting research for multiple years. Her true passion for the practice of allergy came as she interacted with patients and was able to tease out the root of their allergic disease and determine an individualized treatment plan. This individualized approach in the treatment of her patients forms the cornerstone of Dr. Shah's practice.
Dr. Shah's philosophy of care is to provide excellent evidence based medicine in the context of listening to and understanding her patients. She is committed to improving the quality of life for each of her patients and working with their primary care physicians to reach these goals.
Dr. Shah lives with her husband, also a physician, in the Chicagoland area where she enjoys yoga, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.

My appointment started right on time and the doctor was more thorough than I had expected - make sure you give yourself plenty of time for allergy tests and such!

It was a very positive experience. Every member of the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Asking my daughter what she wanted to watch while waiting for the allergy test results and introducing her to I Love Lucy was priceless.

I was really worried about getting skin tested because of all the needles but Dr. Shah was great about easing my fears. The testing was so gentle & she spent so much time to listen to what I had to say. Her recommendations & treatment have changed my life.
