Dr. Daisy-Scarlett Maccallum, MD

Sports Medicine Specialist
1645 W School St, Chicago, IL
Hi, I'm Dr. Daisy-Scarlett MacCallum, board-certified in both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. For more than a decade, I've cared for patients of all ages, from weekend warriors and elite collegiate athletes to families looking for a thoughtful primary care partner. My path into medicine started at UC San Diego, where I earned degrees in Biochemistry and Theatre. I went on to medical school at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, completed my Family Medicine residency at Atlanta Medical Center as Chief Resident of the Sports Medicine Program, and finished a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Boston University. Since then, I've pursued advanced training in musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound-guided injections, joint and soft-tissue procedures, fracture care, and orthopaedic management — tools I use every day to help patients heal and get back to the activities they love. What I care about most is the relationship with each patient. Whether you're here for a routine visit, navigating a nagging knee, shoulder, or back problem, recovering from an injury, or trying to return to your favorite sport, my approach is the same: listen carefully, explain things in plain language, and build a plan together that fits your life. I've had the privilege of serving as team physician for Boston University, Boston College, MIT, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, and the DeKalb County Special Olympics — and one of the highlights of my training was a fellowship rotation as the slope-side physician at Killington Ski Resort. When I'm not in theclinic, you'll most likely find me skiing, out on a long run, or on the curling sheet. I'm a proud member of USA Curling and several local clubs, and winter is hands-down my favorite season. I also speak fluent Polish and a little Spanish, and I'm always happy to connect with patients in whichever language feels most comfortable. I'm looking forward to meeting you. I practice and follow the Aayu Clinics philosophy of patient care.
