More about Dr. Rahnuma Saiyed, OD
Dr. Saiyed attended Loyola University Chicago, receiving undergraduate degrees in Biology and Sociology. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry at Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Saiyed then completed a post-graduate residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease. She has had extensive training in primary eye care, ocular disease management, routine and complex contact lens fitting, and pediatric eye care.
Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Saiyed joined the faculty at Illinois College of Optometry as a Clinical Instructor. She currently works with both students and optometry residents in the Primary Care and Urgent Care clinics. Prior to joining Eye Society, Dr. Saiyed was also a staff optometrist at a private practice in Wisconsin. Along with providing primary eye care and managing post surgical patients, she served as the principal provider for contact lens services.
Dr. Saiyed is dedicated to community outreach and has been involved with a number of organizations, including Special Olympics. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association. Additionally, she is a member of and candidate for fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Saiyed is committed to providing the highest quality of care to each of her patients in order to ensure that they may achieve optimal ocular health and maximum visual potential.

I was a little frustrated. I informed them about an ongoing eye issue, my history of treatment and how the normally-prescribed medication for this issue was not working. I was aware that minor surgery would most likely be needed in this case. They do not perform the needed surgery at this office. I would have appreciated that information before making the trip and paying for a referral.

Dr. Saiyed was wonderful. She was professional yet warm, and did a great job explaining both the steps of the eye exam and any ocular terms that were unfamiliar. Dr. Saiyed also gave relevant advice/best practices for eye health and seemed to really care. I would highly recommend her!

Dr. Saiyed is terrific. Really smart and helpful, and made me feel really comfortable to be there. However, I could tell she was very overbooked because there were a ton of people waiting around to see her as well as engaged in appointments-- I was there for over an hour before I saw her. Her office could probably do a better job with scheduling, but don't let that deter you, because she is super great.

Great visit- very quick and to the point. Just my annual eye exam. This office offers stylish and pricey glasses so if you're not looking for high end labels this isn't the place for you. If i could suggest one thing it would be * if someone sends all of their insurance info before hand, please don't make them refill it out and then wait 30 min in the office while you confirm everything- I made this appointment for my lunch break and ended up having to take a half day. Always, always, respect clients time.

The service was phenomenal the best I've experienced in a long time. Although the wait was a bit it was definitely worth it, glad I chose to come here for my exam and glasses.
