He has served as Principal Investigator on more than 30 clinical trials studying HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention and detection, Hepatitis C therapeutics, and the long term effects of HIV infection on clinical outcomes and quality of life. Dr. Elion travels extensively throughout North America to provide education on the HIV/AIDS and viral Hepatitis epidemics and their treatments. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and mentors medical students and residents as part of their clinical training. Dr Elion practices integrative medicine and has done acupuncture for over 35 years for a variety of ailments.
