The worst medical experience that I have ever had and extremely exemplary of some of the major issues with our healthcare system. The receptionist was unfriendly before I even opened my mouth to say “Good morning” to her. She then instructedme NOT to sign in (mind you this was my first visit), without providing an explanation. There was no examination. Dr. Bedeau asked me about 3-4 questions related to my visit (which were all in the new patient forms that he clearly did not review) with the door completely open and about 5 ft from the receptionist desk and another colleague. He asked me the same question 2-3 times as if he did not believe what I was telling him about my symptoms (Although I documented my symptoms in the patient forms prior). After I repeated the same exact thing 2-3 times he decided that I would actually need an endoscopy because the symptom indicates possible internal bleeding. Lastly, he asked to physically write down my credit card information for use at a later time when someone would be available to run it for the copay. Stay far away from this office if you are actually concerned about your health and prefer not to be insulted by a healthcare “professional.”

This was a first time visit and I was late arriving for my appointment. My sister had arranged to meet me at the office and was able to provide the documentation required for check-in except my photo ID. After calling meto confirm that I was on the way, she asked if I could still be seen for my appointment. The office staff checked with Dr. Bedeau and he agreed to still see me after my arrival.

Upon arriving for my appointment, I was immediately greeted by office staff who spoke with a smile, inquired as to how my day was going, monitored my vital signs in a professional manner, directed me to Dr. Bedeau who immediately evaluatedme and forwarded his information to the customer service representative. The information was immediately evaluated, explained to me, scheduled my next appointment and my visit was over.

This place is horrible- please I beg you, do not go. It started with them not being able to pull up my forms from zocdoc. Then, there were elderly and sick people standing up unable to sit, and thirsty without water-it seemed like a hospital in a third world country! Then, the wait was 2.5 hours, to just speak to the doctor for 5 minutes. AND to top it all off they forgot to give me back my ID and health insurance while the secretary and the nurse were laughing and munching on donuts in the back. THEY SHOULD ALL GET FIRED!

They told me they couldn’t initially see me because I wasn’t a DC resident. Then they transferred me to three rooms and I wasn’t even given an exam, just an interview to ask what was wrong. I was then given samples, two of which were expired. Probably won’t be back here.

I was, to say the least, not impressed. While Dr. Bedeau's bedside manners were adequate, unfortunately, the professionalism of the staff and cleanliness of the location were not. To start, I arrived on time for my appointment and waited nearlyan hour before being called back. My forms which I submitted via ZocDoc were not received. Additionally, I was appalled and DISGUSTED at the number of individuals there to receive a Medical Marijuana Card. This is not to say the individuals there didn't have a genuine issue which warranted the card, but I personally believe that there should be appointment days specific for that purpose so not to interfere with those in pain for GI reasons. While Dr. Bedeau is pleasant and appeared to be knowledgeable, I can say that I will not be returning for this one reason: - I was advised to make an appointment for outpatient surgery to rule out the possible causes for the issue(s) I am having. - The young lady who was responsible for scheduling my appointment was unprofessional and said she would call me later that day to schedule because she was "overwhelmed". Not a good sign. - It has now been a week and I have yet to receive a call to schedule my appointment. Needless to say, I have already made an appointment with another GI doctor. I do not plan on going back to Dr. Bedeau's office EVER!!!

I have never been to a more unprofessional medical facility. I was nervous I was at the wrong place initially because everyone was there for a medical marijuana card. When I asked the man at the front desk about if thedoctor was board certified, he looked at me like I was speaking another language and could not tell me anything about the doctors education and certifications. He took me aside and told me that he was just helping the doctor out at the front desk so he could do his medical marijuana card thing. The mans who took my blood pressure was wearing baggy jeans and tried to convince me to get a medical marijuana card myself, and when I declined, he continued to encourage me to recommend them to my friends. In the exam room, he had to pull up his sagging jeans multiple times. He told me he didn’t believe the doctor would have to do an actual examination (I do not believe he consulted the doctor on this...), and I eventually met with Dr. Bedeau in his office. Let me begin by saying that I have NEVER been in a doctor’s office who did not have any credentials (certifications, diplomas, etc.) on the wall or visible. The doctor was wearing an unbottoned cotton polo shirt— another first for doctors that I’ve interacted with. He continued to go through the forms I had to fill out in the waiting room (the Zocdoc information did not get into their system, but I’m not surprised by that). With no examination, he told me that the symptoms I listed to him are not explained by my lifestyle and wrote me a prescription for the pain. As he tried to schedule another appointment with me, I mentally thought of the most polite way to tell him that there was absolutely no way I would ever “follow up” with him. I know that there aren’t many gastroenterologists in the area, but please broaden your search range and go somewhere else. I have never been more uncomfortable at a doctors office.

Arrived on time. Was checked-in after about 20 mins and moved to a room where I sat for another 40. When the doctor came in he looked confused as if he didn't know who I was. When he realized who Iwas, we moved to his office to review my test results over the computer. The results had not been sent. It would be another 20 mins before the tests were sent back to the office. While sitting in his office, another patient was able to peek into the office and tell the Dr. "Dont forget about me." (He had arrived just before I was called back the first time). This seemed to me to be a breech of confidentiality. I will be taking my medical records elsewhere.

The doctor's office is poorly maintained and in a very old, run down building. I waited 40 minutes past my appointment time before they called me back. Dr. Bedeau, who seemed nice enough, was wearing jeans and a matching jean buttondown shirt, lots of gold jewelry, no lab coat, and checked his phone twice while we were talking. He spent about 10 minutes with me and with no testing or deeper questioning, told me I have a certain condition, and gave me several drug samples. It was sort of a waste of time. I'm going to see a different gastroenterologist.

Not a good experience. This was the first doctor's office where it seemed like nobody cared about anything: not about doing their job well and certainly not about my health. The assistant didn't bother doing vitals because she openly admittedthat she didn't know where the equipment was and didn't care. Dr. Bedeau was professional, but not friendly and only seemed interested in doing the bare minimum to get me out of his office.
