Dr. Grifasi was very professional and thorough. He explained each part of the eye exam and walked through my results with me. I will definitely return to his office for my next eye exam.
In the past I have been to other optometrists who were too pushy about wanting me to buy glasses from their office. I was very pleased that Dr. Grifasi's office was eager to help me select my frames, but was also not too pushy with me when I declined. Very patient-friendly atmosphere. That being said, I did not buy frames from this location so my review only covers the service I received for the eye exam, and not a review for a glasses purchase.

What a great doctor - I hate I've ever gone to a different eye doctor. The entire appointment, from the time I walked on to the time I left, exceeded my expectations. The office was beautiful, everyone was friendly, and Dr. Grifasi was very knowledgeable.

When I started out nearly two decades ago, I had a clear philosophy. Whether protecting your sight from glaucoma or diabetes, introducing you to the most advanced laser vision correction or helping you find the most fashionable and sophisticated eye wear, you should always come first.
That philosophy has led me to strive for excellence in every area of my eye care and optical centers. Excellence in the care and service I give every client. Excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of all vision problems and eye diseases.
Excellence in the technology we use to evaluate and test your eyes. And excellence in the quality and workmanship of our frames and lens selections.
Most of all, I have strived to build excellence into your whole eye care experience, from the moment you first visit until long after you have received treatment or a prescription. My visit to Dr. Grifasi's office was just fine - he was very personable and knowledgeable. However, after a week or two I needed to schedule a follow up appointment to adjust my contact lens prescription. The day before my scheduled appointment, it was suddenly canceled. I rescheduled for one week later. A day before the rescheduled appointment, I received an automatic notification that Dr. Grifasi is no longer seeing patients in Washington, D.C. I will now have to pay the full new patient fee to see another provider and get an unnecessary additional examination in order to get the prescription update I need. This was a very frustrating experience. My follow up needs could have been met without an in-person visit, but Dr. Grifasi is not reachable.

Dr. Grifasi spent 20 minutes after the eye exam talking my ear off about Trump and his theory of social change since the 1960s, completely unsolicited. He started talking about protests this weekend, and then no matter how politely disinterested I tried to be in response to this, he just *kept* lecturing me. At one point, this seemed so inappropriate and had gone on so long that I had to make up an excuse to leave.

Dr. Grifasi and his staff were excellent. I haven't been to the eye doctor's in years (couldn't even remember the last one I went to!). A friend recommend Dr. Grifasi and I am thankful. Very thorough, comfortable and satisfying appointment. Not that I am happy to have be going back to the eye doctor, but glad I have one that is memorable now!

Are they even still open? Dr. Grifasi is a nice guy but this is by far the least responsive office I have ever worked with in my life. They never answer the phone. Their voicemail says they will return calls within 1 business day and they do not. I believe the only way to get in touch with them is to call their office in Delaware or make a ZocDoc appointment to physically see them in person. The front desk gave me an unsigned (and thus, unusable) contact prescription and after a week of leaving voicemails I simply had to call their other branch to get any type of response. I do not recommend this office.

Dr. Grifasi had a great sense of humor. He was kind and immediately put me at ease. He also talked me through everything and gave clear explanations about what he was looking for in the exam. The front office administrator was super personable and friendly; the office itself was clean, organized, and had a funky, artsy feel. I would absolutely go back and strongly recommend this practice.

He has a digital retina scanner which is great. He's very high tech so you know your health insurance is secure, He is available via Zoc Doc for making appointments which is the BEST !! Why I went to him in the first place and will be going back. I was in and out in an hour for both contacts and eye glass prescriptions. He participated with both of my health and EyeMed plans so that is also great. All around wonderful experience. Dr. Grifasi and his assistant Damian were very nice. I would highly recommend them.

I'm not sure if they're still open because I cannot get a call back from the office to save my life. I've left 4 messages over the past month and a half regarding my prescription and have never gotten a call back. Do you have to schedule a physical appointment/let him bill you to get a reply about anything? I'm confused by the lack of follow up from anyone at all.

Great visit. Dr. Grifasi was friendly and efficient. The only downside is that the glasses store that he works out of will not call you when your glasses are ready (although they say they will). Also important to note that they're closed on Mondays, so it's probably best to plan on dropping by the store about a week after your order to see if your glasses are ready. Chose not to order my contacts through the store as it was much cheaper to order online.

The best thing about this visit was the staff working with Dr Grifasi. He was sweet and very helpful in picking out the perfect pair of glasses for me. Dr Grifasi himself was quick and to the point. My only criticism is that he did not tell me the result of my vision screen until I asked it at the end of the visit and gave me an unclear response.

The appointment was great but everything after is a disaster. I have tried calling this doctor at least 10 times to order my contacts and no one is answering me or calling me back. CALL ME or provide email. I want to give you more money and you won't let me??!?!?!?!

I Have been going to Dr. G for over a year now and I must say better service than any service I received. His assistant is phenomenal and they are very reasonable in price. Very inexpensive and I love the talks and the gratitude that Dr. G and his assistant gives you thru out your visit. Once you become a regular customer you become family. I SO LOVE THEM !!!!!!!!!!

I had an excellent experience there! The doc was happy, energetic, and fun. The guy at the counter was no joke as he was very professional, fast, and down to earth. The decor was awesome as well as the convince of the office. There was a parking spot right in front of the door. I highly recommend. Excellent service!

Fast paced but very comprehensive analysis of what I thought was early onset blindness (just a migraine! Thanks, doc.). Would have appreciated a more transparent payment process and copies of my signed documents, when requested, to avoid the surprise of a bill that I thought would be 80% less, and to have copies for my records. But I believe the misunderstanding was unintentional and not malicious. Receptionist was very affable and patient w haranguing customers. Would return, and recommend.

The visit was satisfactory. Service after the visit is unacceptable. There was no follow up regarding the contacts I had ordered (over 5 weeks ago) and after multiple voice mails to his office, there was still no response. Now the voicemail is full and I will have to physically go back to his office to find out if I will ever receive the contacts that my insurance was charged for.

I had my second annual visit and found Dr Grifasi to be very professional and pleasant. His assistant is also helpful in sorting the order for new lenses and new frames if you need them.

Dr. Grifasi is simply excellent. He was very thorough and even explained the why behind the different tests. It was so cool to see a picture of the inner-workings of my eyes! He also was so kind to provide me with an extra pair of contacts since I ran out (hence my visit). It's also very evident that he takes great care of his practice - as evidenced by the office's design and decor. Very modern and sleek!

I had a totally fine overall experience with my actual visit with Dr. Grifasi. However, following my visit, I placed an order for 6 months of contacts and I have been unable to get them. They told me that they would be ready in about a week, I never got a call that they were available and I have called 5 times, left 3 voice mails, and have never gotten a response. The contacts may not be ready (which seems unlikely) but how is it possible that of all 5 times that I have called NO ONE has picked up the phone. Where are they?! It is very frustrating considering the amount I spent on the contacts, I just want what I ordered!
