Dr. Kauffman received his Medical Degree with honors from the Medical College of Georgia in 1976 after graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree from Berry College in 1973. Dr. Kauffman has been a significant member of the Vinings and Atlanta community for the past three decades, as the owner and a physician at Vinings Family Health Care Center & Internal Medicine. Dr. Kauffman joined NAPC in 2015 and he is seeing patients in our West Paces location.
The effects of Dr. Kauffman’s compassion, knowledge and expertise have been felt far outside the State of Georgia. Dr. Kauffman is a retired pilot who has flown many mercy trips for children in need of transportation. He also has gone on medical missions to Honduras on numerous occasions since he was a medical student. In 2005, Dr. Kauffman conducted a two-day conference on HIV/AIDS in Vietnam in which he was the featured speaker. In 2004, as a volunteer with The International Center for Equal Healthcare Access (ICEHA), he spent three months in Cambodia mentoring Cambodian physicians on how to care for patients infected with HIV/AIDS. You can read more about Dr. Kauffman’s trip to Cambodia in the Marietta Daily Journal and the Georgia Physician Magazine. Over the last few years, Dr. Kauffman also conducted medical missions in South Africa, Cambodia, Belize, and Haiti.
Dr. Kauffman’s philosophy on healthcare is very personal. He believes that a healthy life is a sacred gift and that he was given the ability to help his patients attain that gift.
