Dr. Martin is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and specializes in Sports Medicine at Arizona Bone and Joint Specialists. After receiving undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Illinois, Dr. Martin went on to complete his orthopedic surgical residency at the prestigious Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Martin was honored with a Sports Medicine Fellowship with Dr. J.R. Steadman of the world-renowned Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado. It was with Dr. Steadman that Dr. Martin honed his skills and became an expert in shoulder, elbow and knee arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Martin's particular specialty interests include arthroscopic ACL primary and revision surgery, arthroscopic rotator cuff and revision surgery, arthroscopic shoulder instability surgery, and patella stabilization surgery. Dr. Martin currently serves as team physician for multiple local high schools, and is the former Medical Director for the Paradise Valley School District Athletic Program. Dr. Martin is proud to have served as a team physician for the Arizona Diamondbacks professional baseball team in addition to being an integral member of the medical team for the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Redwings. Dedicated to the advancement of medicine and specifically orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, Dr. Martin is a published author and frequent lecturer on a variety of topics pertaining to his specialty. His current research projects include evaluation, treatment and prevention of golf injuries. Dr. Martin has been a recurrent recipient of the prestigious "Top Doc" title in the Phoenix Magazine publication of the same name.
