Richard Satriano obtained his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Rutgers University, which enabled him to become licensed and board-certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). His education, training, and participation in mental health research have prepared him to treat individuals with a wide range of mental health concerns across the lifespan. Richard's licensure and board certification through The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) allow him to address the needs of his clients using medication and psychotherapeutic interventions.
Before earning his PMHNP licensure, Richard earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing and Psychology and spent over ten years caring for individuals with mental health issues as a Psychiatric RN in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He has extensive experience working with patients diagnosed with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorders, and schizophrenia.
Working as a mental health professional for more than a decade has helped Richard understand the critical importance of mental well-being by witnessing the negative impact its absence has on many aspects of a person's life. He also recognizes the profound improvements in functioning and overall quality of life that can be achieved through appropriate psychiatric interventions and strives to help those he serves live their lives as they wish.
