Dr. Moruzzi is board certified and completed his residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in 2000. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Midwestern University. He served as an Army Psychiatrist for 24 years, providing specialty care to active duty service members and their families. During this time, he held multiple roles, including section leader, service chief, consultant, and department chief at various duty stations. He also served as the senior psychiatrist and officer in charge for two combat deployments in 2002-2003 and 2009-2010. He specializes in treating mood, anxiety, PTSD, and sleep disorders. Throughout his 28-year career, Dr. Moruzzi has remained actively involved in teaching psychiatry residents, psychiatric nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and medical students.
Dr. Moruzzi retired from the Army in the summer of 2020 and has spent the past four years working as a staff psychiatrist at Northern Arizona University (NAU). There, he provides specialty care to NAU undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty, staff, and their family members. He offers supportive and educational therapy and, as needed, utilizes lifestyle skills integration (e.g., sleep, outdoor time) to help patients reduce their primary stressors. He believes in taking a holistic approach, leveraging non-medication interventions alongside medication management to achieve the best outcomes for his patients.
