I was very pleased with everything about Dr. Rose and her staff. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. Paperwork was handled quickly. I was ushered into the examining room right on time, by the very kind and friendly nurse Lee. Dr. Rose was everything I'd hoped to find in a functional medicine doctor. We spent over an hour together (my first appointment) as we went over everything including my health history and current symptoms and supplements. She asked pertinent questions, answered all of MY questions, and was very thorough and knowledgeable. At the end of our time together, she explained the protocol she'd outlined to begin treatment, and sent me down the hall to have blood drawn for the first test. I feel I'm in VERY good hands . . . finally!

Rosemarie D. Rose, MD, has enjoyed refining her medical practice throughout her career. Starting in 1992, she practiced a full range of family medicine with Fairfax Family Practice and served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine for the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2000, Dr. Rose suspended her clinical practice while starting a family. She continued work in the medical field as an online medical editor and later by co-founding a company dedicated to improving the quality of continuing medical education for physicians.
Dr. Rose returned to clinical practice in 2007 working with our military veterans. Searching for a deeper understanding of diseases that were not well managed by conventional medical practice, she first completed specialized training in amino acid supplementation for the treatment of neurotransmitter disease. Thereafter she began a comprehensive course of study through the Institute of Functional Medicine. Before joining Steinmetz Medical Associates, she had a solo practice providing consultations in Functional Medicine as well as amino acid therapies for conditions like ADHD, fibromyalgia, migraine, and Parkinson’s Disease.
With her colleagues at Steinmetz Medical Associates, Dr. Rose is able to offer her patients the breadth of care and services necessary to achieve a truly integrative approach to health. She continues to add to her knowledge base with advanced practice seminars and will soon begin studying medical acupuncture. She enjoys learning each patient’s health goals and planning with them the best course of treatment to achieve those goals.

Dr. Rose was very thorough and did not rush through the appointment. She took the time to ask a lot of questions of me and answer the questions that I had. I also appreciated that she didn't suggest that I get lab tests done that she didn't think were necessary at this point and preferred to wait and see what the results were of running a few basic tests.

Dr. Rose is excellent and the Steinmetz Center is exactly what I am seeking in health care. This is a practice in which the patient is a person, not an appointment to get through. They take the time here to find out about the whole picture. I am very impressed. There is not a sense that insurance or corporate goals are primary; these doctors practice medicine based on their knowledge and conscience, which are considerable.

Dr. Rose presents herself well--she promises she will get to the root of your problem by examining you fully, with an open mind. What she fails to tell you is that she is just attempting to push the expensive products the practice sells and will be billing you 200-300% more for whatever service, medication, or test you need. My advice: steer clear of Dr. Rose. Unless you have infinite funds to pay for unnecessary medical expenses, Dr. Rose is not for you.

I'm so glad I found Dr. Rose!!! This was my 4th appt with her (1st was Nov 2012). She is so caring, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and has helped resolve my various maladies without prescription drugs. Our philosophies are the same: find out WHY something is happening to me and treat that vs treating only the symptoms.

Once again I had a great appointment with Dr. Rose. She makes going to the doctor a breeze and something that I don't have to dread. Because of the office's online capabilities, I was able to submit my concerns to Dr. Rose prior to my appointment. When I arrived she wasted no time asking me about why I was there. She followed up on what we discussed at my last appointment (thoroughly) then she went right into discussing today's concerns. Since she already knew why I was there, she prepared herself with possible causes for my problems and had treatment methods in mind. I highly recommend Dr. Rose or anyone at the Steinmetz practice!
