This is only my second appointment with Dr. Ahn, but by far the most thorough and conscientious optometrist I have ever gone to. He really aims to please. I would highly recommend him. Another thing that I was very appreciative of, was that he was not pushy and did not try to upscale me on new hardware or contacts. Very comfortable office environment and super friendly and helpful office staff. All around. Great experience.

Gave various options of types of lenses that may work for me (progressive, reading only, computer only, distance only or mixed). I got in immediately and the exam was very quick - state-of-art equipment.

Hello! My name is Sam Ahn. It is my pleasure and honor to be your neighborhood eye care professional. My goal is to create a family friendly practice where patients always come first.
I spent my youth growing up in the suburbs of Washington D.C. As a student, I served many years as a science and math tutor for disadvantaged kids at Upward Bound. I earned my B.S. in Microbiology at the University of Maryland. After graduation, I spent several years doing cancer research at Georgetown University. I received my Doctorate of Optometry at UC Berkeley.
My clinical experience includes rotations at the Navajo Indian Hospital in Shiprock, NM, the American Lake VA hospital in Tacoma, WA and a LASIK surgery center in Bellevue, WA. I pride myself at listening to my patient's needs and finding the best solutions. I specialize in pre and post op Lasik evaluations, contacts, and eye health exams.
I love my career and I am completely dedicated to doing what is best for those under my care. I enjoy the people and the natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest. My hobbies include reading, mountain biking, running, and hacking my way around local golf courses. I live with my wife and twin girls in the east side.

His staff was also professional. They helped me choose the correct lens and options. They also helped me choose the right frames that fit my life style and my face. Went in immediately even though I was a bit early and everything moved along promptly; no intermediate waiting. Doctor gave a significantly different prescription than my previous eye doctor, but measured it at least 3 different ways (cornea curvature, the regular lenses, plus trying a couple of different contacts and lenses in front of those for variations) and explained what he was doing and why, and what the pros and cons would be for going with different prescriptions, and was willing to go with what I was more comfortable with even if it wasn't his first recommendation. Positive, informative, and practical. Would recommend.

Love, love and love! my new glasses. The office had a wide variety of really cool classes in a variety of different price points. The staff was really helpful and provided me great feedback on what they thought looked good on me. The eye exam was very comprehensive which I appreciated. Dr. Ahn was very caring and explained every step along the way. I would highly recommend this office to anyone. I have followed Dr. Ahn for over 10 yrs now and would not consider using anyone else.
