Dr. Sam Law was born in Cameron, Texas, in 1947. His family moved to Houston during the summer of that year when his father started medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. Houston has been Dr. Law’s home since 1947. He attended Bellaire High School and graduated in 1965. Dr. Law’s undergraduate degree in Biology was earned at Rice University in 1970. He then spent two years in the US Army serving most of the time at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. It was during this time that he met his wife, Lydia. Following his service in the army, he entered medical school at Baylor College of Medicine and graduated in 1975. Dr. Law accepted a position in the Ob/Gyn residency program of the Baylor Affiliated Hospitals, graduating in 1979. He then, entered private practice in Houston, practicing primarily at The Methodist Hospital.
During his thirty years of practice, the medical and surgical treatment of Pelvic Support Defects or Pelvic Prolapse has been one of his primary areas of interest. Dr. Law has attended many conferences and continuing education seminars devoted to this subject. In 2007, he was selected to represent Methodist Hospital at an international conference in Shenzhen, China, reporting on the techniques that were being used at that time to surgically repair symptomatic prolapse. Dr. Law has been awarded the position of Clinical Associate Professor in the Ob/Gyn Departments of Weill-Cornell and Baylor Medical Schools. He has served Methodist Hospital as President of the Medical Staff.
