Sarah is a healer! She is very knowledgeable and amazing at what she does. I originally started seeing her for an injured shoulder, she provided me relief from the first session and I’ve been seeing her on a regular basis ever since. Highly recommend!

She holds a Bachelors of Arts from Bard College and a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College. In addition to completing her clinical training at the Pacific College Acupuncture Clinic, Sarah also worked at The Housing Works Association Medical Center, in Brooklyn, NY, where she had the privilege of treating an underserved community in her neighborhood. Sarah is by far one of the best healthcare professionals I have seen since moving to New York. She is so kind and compassionate and is the first doctor that I’ve felt has actually listened to my concerns both physical and mental. I was nervous going into my first appointment because I had never had acupuncture or cupping before, but she was so reassuring and it has really changed my life. I look foreword to my appointments each week because I know I will be feeling so much better when I leave. I couldn’t recommend Sarah more!

Sarah has a wonderful bed-side manner and a very grounded listening style. I feel very taken care of and heard every time I see her. I feel that she genuinely takes the whole person and lifestyle into consideration. She also has a way of communicating practical ideas thoroughly without coming off as demeaning or condescending. A rare find amongst medical professionals in my opinion.
The space is so relaxing and clean with wonderful attention to detail. I didn’t feel crowded or claustrophobic at any moment in my treatment and honestly wished I could have stayed longer just to hang out! Sarah and her office are gems in this big wild city.

Dr. Heslip was amazingly calm, attentive, and competent. I went in to Peach Pit Acupuncture on a friend’s recommendation with no small amount of skepticism (first-time acupuncture patient here), and horrible insomnia. A couple of treatments later, I noticed a huge improvement in my night’s sleep, and resulting daytime energy levels. I don’t know how it works, but damn, it does!!! I recommend Dr. Sarah Heslip and her practice highly.

I’ve been seeing Sarah for about a year and she is amazing!!! I initially started with her to address mood and anxiety, and then eventually sleep, energy, and Digestion.
Sarah takes her time to listen to you, is extremely compassionate, and has an overall soothing presence. She carefully tailors each session to my needs. I never feel rushed, and always feel restored after acupuncture. She is super thorough, and I’ve also worked with her to get the right herbs for my pressing symptoms/ overall wellbeing.
The space at Akos is really modern, clean, and soothing.
Sarah is super knowledgable and empathetic - working with her has been an immense support for me. I highly recommend!! If you’re not doing acupuncture with Sarah then what’re you doing!?

I've been seeing Sarah for about 2 years and can honestly say that she has changed my life.
I started seeing her for low back pain and later for anxiety, depression and IBS. She immediately saved me when I threw out my back! It was like magic!
Sarah is compassionate and thorough and I feel like a new person each time I leave her clean and calming office.
I have sent my sister, partner and friends to her and we still all see her regularly. She is our go-to for health care.

I’ve been seeing Sarah for acupuncture for over a year now, and cannot recommend her enough. She’s compassionate, knowledgeable, and a truly skilled acupuncturist. A generous amount of time is built into each visit to discuss symptoms and treatment, and I’ve never felt rushed. Visits always start promptly and the office and treatment rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. An overall excellent experience, every time!

Sarah is amazing and I don't know what I'd do without her! She's thorough and takes her time; never once have I felt rushed. She's extremely thoughtful in her approach and I'm always impressed by her memory - she remembers small details about me and my symptoms appointment after appointment that even I've forgotten about. On top of all that she has really awesome energy, which is not something I typically notice about a person. She is so calm and grounded and, like most New Yorkers, I need more of that!
For the nitty gritty: I've been dealing with complex PTSD for several years and began acupuncture because my whole system has been off and nothing has been helping. Sleep has evaded me and I carry tension and stress in my jaw and shoulders, leading to horrible headaches and body aches. After years of struggling to find any relief whatsoever, I'm finally making progress and owe much of it to Sarah.
The Akos space is beautiful, tranquil, clean, and well-kept. Every time I leave I feel like a weight has been lifted. I've told my whole office about Akos because I love it that much and I can't recommend Sarah enough!

I’ve been with Sarah for 3 years. As a professional dancer with many injuries and a Pilates instructor in many studios in nyc. Sarah has supported my physical, emotional and spiritual body through it all.
She is extremely talented in the way she approaches the treatment. She listens to the individual needs and, after thoroughly assessing every aspect that might need addressing, she thoughtfully orchestrating a well rounded session.
I am always heard, and always have space to say what I need when I need it and I trust her every step of the way. I’m seeing her once a week and with every single treatment I feel better, more centered and connected to myself. I highly recommend her.
