As a NY State licensed acupuncturist and herbalist since 1995, I've helped forty thousand patients manage insomnia, pain and anxiety. About me? When Chinese medicine cured my chronic insomnia, I left a career in music and dived into a four-year graduate program. After earning my 'wings' at NY Center for Pain Management, I opened Blue Phoenix Wellness and haven't looked back. Props? I had a great experience with Dr. Bernstein. First he sat me down and paid attention to all of my concerns and issues. The treatment itself was very calming and he talked me through everything he did. I left feeling much better and plan on returning.

I can’t recommend Dr. Dan enough. From my very first session, he has created such a safe and welcoming space where I feel truly heard and supported. He is always open to listening and discussing my concerns, making this healing journey both insightful and reassuring.
Through both hypnotherapy and acupuncture, he has helped me tremendously with my anxiety and restlessness. I’ve noticed a real shift—not only do I feel more at ease, but I also have a newfound sense of confidence and calm that I hadn’t experienced before. His compassionate and thoughtful approach makes all the difference, and I always leave my sessions feeling lighter and more balanced.

I've been seeing Doctor Dan on and off for five years, and for various issues, but mainly for pain management. In that department, he really knows what he's doing. I've recommended him to my daughter, and now she sees him regularly. He's caring and very, very good at what he does.

Back in 2018 I had back surgery on L3, L4 and LV5. I frankly thought I'd never pain free. I can say that Dr. Dan has worked some real magic. Over the last three months he has reduced my back pain immensely. I'm very grateful. And he's a good guy, besides (not that it means much when you're in awful pain, as i had been). Highly recommended.

Dan is an incredible hypnotherapist/acupuncturist. He has helped me a great deal throughout our time working together. He is kind, attentive, and thoughtful, but most of all he is a person with an extremely high degree of emotional intelligence capable of helping people navigate the most complex of issues that arise in their lives. I could not recommend him more and I’ve worked with countless therapists all over NYC! Thank you Dan for the incredible work you do!

I've only been to him five times, and already my anxiety levels have dropped 40 percent. My sleep is more consistent, and my TMJ is way less than it was before seeing him. I recommend Dan highly.

Dr. Daniel Bernstein is an amazing acupuncturist. His herbal remedies balanced my hormones and cured my ear infection. His acupuncture is relaxing and restorative. His treatments gave my mother’s cancer much needed relief. Five stars.

Very happy with every acupuncture treatment I have received from Daniel Bernstein. He's helped me tremendously with several issues. From lower back pain, to carpal tunnel. I find his treatments very effective. For me they don't work on-the-spot immediately- but when I wake up the next morning, it's like the pain was never there- not even a muscle memory of it! I've also had him do cupping several times for persistent congestion and those treatments are very effective as well. I highly recommend Daniel, his deep expertise is evident and he is both highly professional and and nice to boot!

From the moment you meet Dan, you know you're in good hands. Before seeing Dan, I went to several doctors who couldn't figure out the reason causing me endless chronic pain, which led me to the route of acupuncture. Dan is the only person who has helped alleviate the chronic pain I've dealt with. I've been seeing Dan for over a year, and each time, he takes the time to listen attentively and treat my pain effectively. He doesn't rush you in and out of the room, he takes whatever time you need. Beyond his expertise, he possesses such a rare quality— genuine care. Dan Bernstein is at the forefront of healing and improving health. He was the only practitioner able to provide relief to my Long Covid symptoms of tension headaches, fatigue and dizzy spells. From there he helped me overcome pain and issues with pelvic floor, heartburn, anxiety-stress, diabetes-blood sugars and TMJ. Dan grew up in the East Village, he has a real sense of community which allows him to search far and wide for effective treatments and answers to troubling health situations. Furthermore, Dan brings a menu of options to the table which includes sleep therapies, Chinese herbs, cupping, moxa, hypnosis and much more. As a sole proprietor he is opened to reviewing different health insurance coverage options and I find his office space conveniently located but also very tranquile and comfortable. Thanks to Dan, I went from being unable to travel in 2023 to 3 overseas, 1 west coast, 4 New England and 5 regional trips in 2024. No need to suffer, see Dan Bernstein.
