She has spent several years working in diverse communities and assisting clients in understanding and coping with stress related to acculturation or minority status and is an LGBTQ ally. Dr. Patels therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and integrative. She utilizes cognitivebehavioral and acceptance and mindfulnessbased approaches and incorporates relaxation techniques. Dr. Patel earned her doctoral degree from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, with a concentration in health psychology and behavioral medicine. She completed an APAaccredited internship in the behavioral medicine track at the Miami VA Medical Center. Her APAaccredited postdoctoral fellowship through Brown University focused on the integration of psychological and substance use services in specialty medical clinics. She also holds a B.S. in Biology from Duke University. Dr. Patel provides services in our North Station office.
