Julie Gass, LICSW

Julie Gass, LICSW

Psychotherapist
MA
I've spent the majority of my career working in the areas of serious illness, end-of-life, grief, and bereavement. I find this a special time to be with clients because everything counts when you are in the position of reflecting on your life. Often, this brings up anxiety, depression, feelings of inadequacy, and guilt. It has been my honor to help people overcome these feelings so they can focus on their health, family, and close relationships. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the Catholic University of America, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to provide compassionate support during these critical moments.

What should a new client know about working with you?

"Initially, during the first session, you can expect to learn more about how I work with clients, and I will learn more about what kind of help you are seeking. I intend for you to have this space to see if we are a good fit, and if you would like to begin an ongoing therapeutic relationship. I truly believe that most of the power of therapy comes from a solid relationship based on trust and mutual respect, and it is important to feel that with the person you choose to work with. As we continue our therapy together, you can expect warmth, humor, curiosity, honesty and regard from me. Our sessions will focus on the issues you brought to therapy, and anything else we discover together along the way. "

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
