Dr. Seth Cohen graduated from Harvard College and completed medical school at the College of Physicians & Surgeons Columbia University. He trained in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital and did his fellowship in Gastroenterology at St Luke’s Hospital. Dr Cohen went on to do an advanced fellowship in therapeutic ERCP and advanced endoscopy with Dr. Jerome Siegel.
Dr. Cohen is board certificated in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is involved with research and teaching, having published more than 30 article and abstracts, the assistant director of ERCP training at Beth Israel Hospital and served as the past president of the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr Cohen has a busy practice in general gastroenterology and specializes in biliary and pancreatic disease.

Terrible experience. It was a complete waste of time and money. Dr. Cohen suggested not to get surgery. I ended up in the ER 3 times due to gallstone issues after taking his advice into consideration. I called his office to ask if I can get a referral for surgery and never got a call back from him. I had to wait about a month before getting an appointment and during that time my gallbladder got infected and ended up in the ER.

Dr. Cohen is sharp, to the point but also very thorough. I was a new patient and he took the time to hear out my concerns and share his knowledge with me. He went the extra mile to get lab tests done for a problem other doctors would have possibly just told me to tough it out and deal with. He spent more time in the room (explaining, examining, and even drawing blood!) than any other doctor I've met. One of the most positive interactions with a doctor I've ever had. A+!

From the front office personnel to Dr. Cohen, I hands down felt like I was being cared for thoroughly during my visit. The young lady who greeted me was so personable and nice and she made me feel at home and thoroughly walked me through the whole process of what to expect during my appointment. I waited no time to be seen by Dr. Cohen and he was very attentive and thoroughly walked me through everything I needed to know. His bedside manner was excellent, good humor, personable, and I could tell he really cared. I definitely highly recommend this office and Dr. Cohen and send major kudos to the office personnel and Dr. Cohen for making my experience a great one.

I really liked Dr. Cohen. He was thoughtful, asked questions and probed further, then listed what he suspected might be the problems, explained his suspicions, and sent me for further testing to rule stuff out. He didn't rush things - I hate it when doctors rush the appointment to get on to their next widget (er ...patient) on the conveyor belt.

Dr. Cohen is really kind, and I love that his staff explain what your insurance covers and what your charges will be. I like that they have all your information online as well, so you can see your blood work results at will. Dr. Cohen took the time to call me personally 2 days after my initial appointment, so I felt that he really took out the time to take care of me.

I found Dr. Cohen's bedside manner to be brief and cold. There were times when he would ask a question and then make me wait silently while he typed away at his computer. In addition, the visit felt very rushed and I felt uncomfortable asking additional questions.

Very unprofessional doctor. We go to doctors to get their professional opinion, not to be spoken to in a condescending manner just because they are more knowledgeable in the area of medicine. I think this doctor has forgotten that not everyone is a medical professional and the point of seeing him is to get his help and assistance not his judgement. I would highly suggest you go see another doctor if you can.

I did not have a good experience here. It was my first time seeing a gastro so all of this is new to me. I had a short consultation and then given medication and sent out the door. I was given no instructions on how to take the medication and had to google it myself. Being my first time, I did not know any questions to ask and the doctor made no effort to tell me what I needed to know. All in all, a bad experience. My symptoms have come back and I am going to a different doctor for a second opinion and better treatment/attention.
