About Dr. Neal Joseph

Following in the footsteps of his father, a gastroenterologist, and his mother, a nutritionist, Dr. Joseph got a head start in learning about digestive disorders, and this early exposure inspired his passion to become a physician. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Biology from the prestigious accelerated BA/M.D. 7-year Combined Degree Program at George Washington University. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Joseph completed his internal medicine residency at University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital and subsequently pursued specialty training with a fellowship in gastroenterology at Lenox Hill Hospital, NY. Dr. Joseph's practice encompasses the full breadth of gastroenterology, including colon cancer screening, colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, polyp removal, acid reflux, abdominal pain, inflammatory bowel disease, and irritable bowel syndrome. He has presented original research at national conferences and published peer-reviewed research articles. He was awarded the distinguished American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Diversity Award at the Digestive Disease Week Crystal Awards for his excellence in research devoted to promoting minority-related issues in gastroenterology. Dr. Joseph is currently an attending physician with privileges at Lenox Hill Hospital and New York University Langone Medical Center.
