Shawn Mathur, M.D. received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin where he was a Dean’s Honored Graduate. He earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed a one year General Surgery internship and four year Urology residency at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Mathur treats patients 14 years and up. He treats all Urologic conditions and is specifically interested in kidney stones, minimally invasive approaches to treating genitourinary cancers, treatment and prevention of kidney stones, BPH, erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence and urethral stricture disease. He maintains an active membership in the American Urological Association.
Dr. Mathur strives to provide compassionate care to all of his patients. His goal is to educate patients about all of their treatment options and work as a team to identify the best treatment course. He speaks English, limited Spanish and Hindi. Away from work, he enjoys playing guitar, tennis and golf.

My first visit went very well we talked about my problem and he gave me a better solution than what I wanted to do which I thought was great because he explain the pro's doin it his way & the con's on what I wanted to do and I rather go with pro's vs con's.

I was very pleased. I've had this procedure before and had a horrible experience with a different doctor, but Dr. Mathur was amazing, excellent bedside manor. I as well as my family was very impressed how caring, sincere he was for my well being. I would highly reccommend him!
