Dr. Shelby Platia is an accomplished audiologist providing unsurpassed hearing healthcare for adults in the tri-state area. Her services include diagnostic hearing evaluations, hearing device evaluation and fittings, counseling, and central auditory processing disorder (CAPD) evaluations. Dr. Platia also participates in CHC’s outreach group, offering hearing screenings and hearing health education at several senior centers in New York. She is fluent in the latest digital technology and skilled at determining the right solution to meet your unique hearing health needs.
Dr. Platia earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. For her undergraduate degree, she attended New Paltz College of the State University of New York, where she graduated summa cum laude. While completing her graduate degree, her capstone project, Experience and Satisfaction with Hearing Aid Services Delivered via Teleaudiology in Adult Populations: A Systematic Review, was accepted in April 2021.
Please note that Dr. Platia does not see tinnitus patients. For tinnitus services, schedule an appointment with audiologists Susan Adams or Dominique Calandrillo, both colleagues of Dr. Delapenha. If you are interested in a Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) evaluation, this service may require more than one visit. Medicare participants are required to obtain a referral from their primary care physician before scheduling a hearing test appointment.
