Dr. Pipe joined Dakhari Psychological Services (DakhariPsyc.com) in 2012 and brings to the practice her expertise in working with young adults and adults. She sees patients with a range of needs including managing stress and mood difficulties, parent-teen interaction challenges, and coping with daily life struggles. Her varied training has included working with children with developmental delays, on-call crisis university counseling, and serving as a graduate school professor.
Dr. Sheryl Pipe has been combining her career interests in psychology, education and animal welfare since graduate school. She participated in a school psychology internship at the Milestone School for Child Development—a special education preschool in Brooklyn, NY. She was a clinical psychology intern at the Hofstra University Student Counseling Center—where she went on to become an on-call crisis intervention counselor for the university.
During Dr. Pipe’s tenure as a graduate student, she served as a research assistant at the New York State Institute for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine on the Einstein Aging Study. She earned a doctoral degree in Clinical and School Psychology from Hofstra University. Dr. Pipe currently teaches within programs of the Graduate School of Social Work of the University of Denver (online) and Canisius College (online).
Dr. Pipe's honors include leading the Humane Education department of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and speaking at a number of conferences—including American Humane Association, National Middle School Association, Youth Service America, New Jersey Education Association, New Jersey Association for Gifted Children and the Association of Professional Humane Educators conferences. Dr. Pipe was a media representative for the ASPCA and was interviewed for publications including USA Today and Child Magazine and made television appearances on Good Day New York, NY 1 News and The Today Show.

Dr Pipe has a very easy manner that put us at ease right away. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and made welcome. She listened carefully and seemed to have ideas and a game plan that would help my son reach his goals.
