Shira Futterman is a clinical psychologist licensed by the state of New York. She is a warm and approachable clinician providing individual, couples, and family psychotherapy to her patients virtually and in person at her office in Westchester County . Dr. Futterman is an active member of the American Psychological Association and a member of Division 39, the division of Psychoanalysis. Dr. Futterman earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she obtained a concentration in Industrial-Organizational psychology.
Dr. Futterman supports patients in coping with and recovering from conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, sexual abuse, anger, and sleep disorders. She has obtained additional training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety disorders connecting with patients anywhere along their journey from family planning to the heartbreak of grief and loss. Dr. Futterman understands patients from a psychodynamic perspective but also utilizes a number of other treatment approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy.
