Verified patient
Dr. Stephen was patient and took time to answer all of our questions. We did not feel rushed. We highly recommend Dr. Sindu Stephen.
Verified patient
Dr. Stephen was thorough and nice. She took my complaints seriously (unlike a doctor I had seen previous to her) and wanted to get to the bottom of what was going on. She was very accommodating and worked with my schedule to squeeze me in for an endoscopy and colonoscopy because she didn't want me to wait. I also saw her colleague Dr. Koh who was just as fabulous. The staff was very nice and efficient. The endoscopy/colonoscopy were a breeze, and the staff, nurses, and anesthesiologist all made me feel extremely comfortable before the procedures. They do the procedures on site, which was nice because I didn't have to travel to another location or a hospital to get it done.
Very personable. Thoroughly explained significance of lab work and scheduled important follow-up tests to corroborate her initial diagnosis.
Verified patient
Dr. Stephen really took the time to speak with me and not just dictate treatment to me, but collaborate with me on a course of action. I was very happy.
Verified patient
Dr Sindu seemed like she was in a bad mood when I came to her office. After filling out paperwork and waiting for 45 minutes past my appointment time, I was brought in to see her. When I explained my problems, she didn't seem to take it very seriously. In fact, she was downright rude.
Verified patient
Very pleasant office staff, efficient and professional. Dr. Stephen was very knowledgeable and immediately put me at ease. It was my first visit to the office and I couldn't be happier with my selection.
Verified patient
Very professional and informative
I cannot possibly be more pleased with Dr. Stephen and the excellent team at Montgomery Gastroenterology. From the first appointment, to an endoscopy that an admittedly neurotic patient such as myself obviously did not look forward to, to an ultimate treatment plan, I have been treated wonderfully every step of the way. And a very special thanks to the anesthesiology team who took exceptional care of me before, during, and after the procedure. Very highly recommended.
Verified patient
Dr. Stephen and her staff were very friendly and efficient. Dr. Stephen too time with gathering my medical history and symptoms. She was very thorough in explaining possible causes and courses of therapy. I am extremely pleased with this physician.
Verified patient
I got there early because I knew there would be forms to fill out (there certainly were!) but I was done by my appointment time, which was 10 a.m. I was not taken back to a room until about 10:30, and didn't see the doctor for a while after that. That being said, Dr. Stephen is awesome -- very knowledgeable and clear in her instructions.
Verified patient
Dr. Stephen was very pleasant and fully explained my procedure to ensure I clearly understood the process. I would highly recommend Dr Stephen to anyone looking for a doctor with her specialty.
Verified patient
my visit was good -- she listened and did her own research on my medical background and recommended new avenues to look into and do more testing. Liked her approach even though this is my first visit.
Dr. Stephen took the time to listen to me and and was very patient with me. I have never had a physician spend that amount of the time with me.
Excellent
Verified patient
Dr. Stephen is a friendly and knowledgeable person who always takes the time to explain procedures and my options. She even calls me personally with test results or when an appointment conflicts. I would recommend her to anyone!
She was good helpful and gave good suggestions.
I have been suffering from abdominal pain for years now and this is the first time I've really felt like a doctor listened to me and was willing to do what ever needed to be done to figure out the problem and hopefully resolve it. I feel very confident trusting my care to her.

good doctor,patient friendly
Dr. Stephen is one of the best providers I've ever seen. Very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Plus, her front desk staff is amazing. Highly recommend.
Verified patient
Very personable And engaging.
I was so impressed by Dr. Stephens that I switch from my former GI specialist. I would suggest that the ladies who answer the telephone refrain from telling lost new patients that the office is at the corner of Connecticut and Veirs Mill because it is not. Lost patients should be told that the office is on the corner of Ferrara and Veirs Mill in a medical center cluster of buildings.
Verified patient
She was very pleasant and genuinely listened to my family history and cross referenced online sources with me so I could see things she was looking for. I felt comfortable and well cared for.
Verified patient
Dr Stephen listened carefully and respectfully. She clearly explained what she thought was going on and what she recommended to help me feel better. I felt reassured. I could sense I was in good hands.
Dr. Stephen is great, has a good sense of humor, and gets to the point quickly. Her staff is nice and soft spoken, however unsympathetic. When told I physically could not walk to my wallet to obtain certain information, the staff only repeated that I get that information before my appointment could be finalized via phone.
I did not think she was very friendly. Also, was not helpful in answering my questions, and felt like her answers to my questions seemed obvious. Her bedside manner was okay, but seemed like I was just any other patient. I have a very intricate case and instead of taking the time to evaluate and get to know me and my history, she right away told me to see another doctor.
This appointment was for my mom. But I did love how she listened and did not rush us. She took the time to wait for our Lab results.
Verified patient
Dr. Stephen was very professional and probably one of the best doctors I've seen in years. She was straight to to point in asking me my symptoms and was able to come up with a diagnosis on the spot. She easily explained everything to me in terms I could comprehend and gave me information to help me alleviate my symptoms. She was excellent.
Dr. Stephen was amazing. She really listened to me and made some great recommendations that ultimately led to my IBS getting under control. So thankful I found her.
Dr Stephen reassured me as soon as I walked in the room and asked me questions to find out the root of my problem. She has given me a great explanation which was very easy to understand and I felt very comfortable. Definitely recommend her to anyone who is seeking a Gastroenterologist.
She was very good and very thorough. She was able to diagnose my problem, and work quickly to find the source and recommend a course of action to correct the problem.
Verified patient
She was very informative and resourceful.
I found her to be very approachable and appreciated her providing me with an assessment that was direct and authoritative without being condescending.
Verified patient
Dr. Stephen was very sweet and understanding. She made me feel comfortable and really took the time to explain everything. She didn't rush into any unnecessary tests or procedures, and gave me many helpful tips on easy ways to improve my digestion.
She explain very well.
I was completely unaware and ignorant of what approach I should take for my ailment and Dr. Stephen pointed me in the right direction.
Verified patient
She had unpleasant news to give me about possible treatments, but she was very attentive to my needs in hearing this news. She spent a surprisingly large amount of time discussing matters with me. I was very appreciative of how well she absorbed my personal medical information and how she used it. I am optimistic about the treatment option we selected.
